Your place or mine is a fun romantic comedy with a lot of heart. Reese Witherspoon And Ashton Kutcher have great chemistry, and that’s because they’re really good friends. Their friendship shines through the characters they play and that’s why they were cast perfectly for it. It’s hard to admit you have feelings for someone, but going on a date and then deciding you’re better off as friends is even harder. Debbie (Witherspoon) and Peter (Kutcher) ended up separating and living on opposite coasts. They tried to keep in touch, but once Debbie got married, Peter had to put his feelings to rest.
Debbie (who has just divorced) must start her life as a single mother again. Her friends force her to go out with her because it’s healthy for her, and that’s where Peter comes in. Of course, they’re still friends and he’d help her in any way he could, but that’s not is just friendship. Peter helps Debbie with her son Jack (Wesley Kimmel) and becomes this new father figure in her meaningless life when they decide to swap apartments. You never know what you may find out about the person you think you’ve known for twenty years, but Peter and Debbie uncover some secrets.
Like any good rom-com, Peter and Debbie express their feelings for each other at the airport and eventually reunite. It’s hard not to be romantically involved with someone if you’ve known them for twenty years and a date meant more than it should have. Anything can happen in a lifetime and relationships are meant to change, what matters is how you grow with the relationship.
Your Place or Mine Sequel Potential Release Date
There are no plans for a sequel to Your place or mine for the moment. How the rom-com ended is obviously left open as Peter and Debbie are officially together. It’s a possibility in the future that they might do another one, but that’s not in the cards at the moment.

Your place or mine sequel plot: what could Your Place or Mine 2 be about?
Since Debbie and Peter are back together, they might have a talk about where they would like to live. This is how the sequel could begin and one of them would have to give in. On top of that, they could go on a book tour with Peter since he had his book published to see where the journey would take him.
Meanwhile, they could be separated again because Jack’s hockey career could really take off and he could compete in tournaments. They might face similar hurdles as the first movie, but this time they’re actually in a relationship and they may be under the pressure of being in a relationship. It’s a totally different dynamic when you’re officially with someone and having to make tough decisions.
