The post Will there be a Season 3 of Vikings: Valhalla? first appeared on Ready Steady Cut.

We discuss whether there will be a season 3 of Vikings: Valhalla and the renewed and canceled status of the Netflix series.

vikings was one of the most notable shows to air on streaming platforms, and the show would have a substantial run from 2013 to 2020. Created and written by Michael Hirstthe show was a historical drama originally developed for the Discovery Channel. It was based on the life of Ragnar Lodbroka Viking Norse Hero, once a humble farmer who would rise to fame and become king.

The series would be coming to an end in 2020, but it wouldn’t be long before a prequel appeared, Vikings: Walhalla. After the success of the first season, a second has been ordered and will be available for viewing on netflix from January 12, 2023. Yet the question we are asking today concerns whether or not there will be a third season of the show.

Will there be a Season 3 of Vikings: Valhalla?

Well, we don’t want to say much about Season 2, but viewers will be on the edge of their seats wondering what will happen after the Battle of Kattegat. Freydis needs to know more about his prophesied eventual fate, and Harold is keen to regain his right to be King of Norway. Meanwhile, Leif is going wild after the battle, so there’s plenty to do.

Good news — a third season of Vikings: Walhalla is on the way. It looks like Season 3 has already been given the green light to go into production along with Season 2. The appetite for this particular historical adventure is still high, and with such high demand, Seasons Two and Three were always going to be produced.

How many seasons will there be of Vikings: Valhalla?

From what we can gather, it seems that this epic story was envisioned in twenty-four episodes to allow the story to be told. These episodes have been split into three eight-episode seasons, and since there’s been no official notice so far, we’re sad to assume that season three might be the last for this series.

Showrunner Jeb Stuart also stated that the third season will take place in the year 1066, and it also suggests that this time zone confirms that this will be the last Viking story because historically this era marks the end of the Viking timeline. That’s not to say the Vikings franchise will end completely. With the popularity of the show and how the story can be carried over to different times, keep everything crossed so there can be another addition to the show’s canon.

Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 Potential Release Date

From what we can tell, production on season three began in the spring of 2022, so at the time of this writing, the show has had nearly a year to put things together. With no official release date, it’s unclear how long the show will need in post-production, but we could see a release in late 2023 or possibly early 2024.
