Control Z returns for season 3

After an agonizing 11-month wait following the cliffhanger ending of Season 2, Control Z’s third installment arrived on Netflix on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

The story picks up immediately after Susana’s shocking accidental death, and the group agrees to make a pact to keep their involvement a secret.

However, 15 months later, as the students are about to graduate from Colegio Nacional, the hacker known as @allyoursecrets from Season 1 – who turned out to be Raul – reappears, threatening to reveal the group’s role in Susana’s death and destroy any hope for a future they might have.

But Raul claims he’s no longer in control of the account, leaving Sofia no choice but to take matters into her own hands and find out who’s behind the new threat before it’s too late.

Control Z will not return for season 4

Unfortunately, Control Z will not be returning for season 4 as the newly released third installment has been confirmed as the final season.

In preparation for the release of Season 3, Netflix announced that the next episode would also be the show’s final chapter, ending the story of Sofia and the gang.

After arriving in May 2020, Control Z gained a huge following, its first season was reportedly viewed over 20.5 million times in its first 28 days and while those numbers remained even slightly constant, the popularity of the The show isn’t the reason Control Z ended.

Why Control Z is ending

The reason Control Z is coming to an end is simply that the story has run its course.

Since Season 1, we’ve followed the adventures of Sofia and the gang at the Colegio Nacional as they try to take out several secret hackers, but in Season 3 their time at the school comes to an end as their graduation is on the horizon.

At the end of Season 3, Sofia and her friends think they’ve finally caught the real hacker behind @allyoursecrets and are preparing to say goodbye to school and move on to the next chapter of their lives.

Therefore, with the gang all going their separate ways, the creators of Control Z and Netflix clearly feel this is the sweet spot to end the series.
