It’s a good time to be a fantasy fan, that’s for sure. The game of thrones prequel spin-off Dragon House has finally been unveiled, we’re back in Middle-earth thanks to power rings and Alféa has once again opened its doors for the return of Fate: The Winx Saga.
Created by Brian Young, the Netflix fantasy series is based on the Nickelodeon animated series winx club and hit the platform in early 2021, introducing them to the story of Bloom, a fairy who enters the Otherworld and attends a magical school.
He’s back, just like the Burned Ones in Season 2, but some changes can be distracting at first. Notably, Professor Harvey has been recast…

Who plays Professor Harvey in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2?
Professor Harvey is portrayed by Daniel Betts in the second season of Fate: The Winx Saga.
Sam and Terra’s father character was actually played by Alex Macqueen in Season 1 but he didn’t return to reprise the role.
Deadline announced the redesign in July, but the reason or circumstances behind it were not addressed. It’s likely there were scheduling conflicts, as Variety reports that production on Season 2 was delayed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Either way, they were able to find a new actor to breathe new life into the role.

The 50-year-old British actor has marked the film and television landscape over the years.
You might recognize him from shows like Mr Jack (he played Hinscliffe), Atlantic crossing (Harry Hopkins), A confession (ACC Mike Veale), The crown (Ernst von Hanover), The crimson field (Jaco Tillens) Chloe (Mark Peele), and Silent Witness (Seth Collins).

“Everyone I knew had their own character”
The cast isn’t the only thing changing when the show returns, as Winx Saga writer Vanessa Benton explained in a chat with Screenrant.
“Going into Season 2, it was clear that this version of Fate had the characters, but we’re reimagining the world,” she revealed.
“In Season 2 the things we were really focusing on were just the girls themselves and who they were in the manga I guess? Comics? Graphic novels? But who they were in their original cartoon form, and kind of bringing that out a bit more in Season 2… In Season 2, we were excited to kind of develop all of these characters.
She continued, “Because growing up, everyone I knew had their own character…so it was pretty important for us to give people like that a chance to have their moments with their character.”
Fate: The Winx Saga streams exclusively on Netflix.
