*WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Locke & Key Season 3*
After the jaw-dropping cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, Locke & Key is back on Netflix for its long-awaited third installment.
The new season sees colonial-era villain Captain Frederick Gideon attempt to take all of the Lockes’ magic keys in order to bring about the end of the world – pretty standard for a villain.
But despite getting his hands on seemingly every known key, Gideon realizes one is missing and it is revealed that the missing key is hidden with someone named Gordie Shaw.
As a character we’ve never met before, Locke & Key fans have been left wondering who Gordie is and what role he should play in Season 3.

Who is Gordie in Locke & Key season 3?
Gordie Shaw was a classmate of Rendell Locke, Erin Voss and Ellie Whedon when they were in school.
A great theater lover, Gordie was part of the group that was going to perform an adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
While preparing the play, Gordie grows suspicious of the others after Rendell uses the Creation Key to bring a version of the creature Caliban to life for the performance.
In order to make Gordie forget what he saw, Rendell uses the Master Key to erase the memory, while Erin and Ellie hide the Creation Key deep in Gordie’s mind to keep him from causing more. of badness.
What’s happening to Gordi?
Gordie dies in Locke & Key season 3 after being stabbed by Gideon.
In order to add a sense of urgency to Ellie’s search for the Key, Gideon stabs an adult Gordie and leaves him bleeding as they enter his mind and go in search of the Creation Key.
Tyler, Kinsey, and Sam (posing as Gideon’s henchmen, Bolton) also work their way into Gordie’s mind and eventually manage to find the key.
During the adventure in the memory of Gordie, they can see that his life was not easy.
Despite being the biggest theater fan and auditioning for a lead role in the production of The Tempest, Gordie was only cast as a stunt double, forcing him to hide his disappointment and attempt to look good.
On top of that, we even see memories of Gordie being rejected by an ex-girlfriend and even his own mother after he came out as gay.
Gordie’s tragic story comes to an end as he dies of blood loss and as his final moments approach, the world inside his head – where the gang searches for the key – begins to crumble.
Luckily for them, however, they are able to escape at the last minute, as Sam sacrifices himself so they can get out of there in no time.
