Who are the Harfoots?
Tolkien’s story of Middle-earth depicts the Harfoots as being one of three races of hobbits, alongside the Stoors and the Fallohides.
These hobbits were darker skinned and lived in small holes called smials. They were known as the most common race of hobbits and inhabited the foothills of the Misty Mountains during their first existence.
These hobbit ancestors were known for not interfering in the great conflicts of the world, keeping to themselves and often going unnoticed.
The Hobbits then began to migrate west, settling in various places in Arnor before joining the other two races to colonize the Shire in TA 1601.

Tolkien Fans React to Harfoots
The recent trailer for The Rings of Power got people talking about how these hobbits definitely existed in the Second Age, but nobody really paid attention.
Another fan mentioned the scene that many believe shows Sauron’s arrival in Middle-earth and thought the Harfoots would soon be tricked by the Dark Lord:
Anyone gets the impression in this ‘Rings of Power’ trailer that the Harfoots are going to show off the bounty of Meteor Man (it must be Sauron), unaware that they’re helping him return to his bad old me
