What could happen in episode 1 of season 4 of Jack Ryan? We discuss the predictions for the premiere episode of Prime Video’s fourth season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.

One of Prime Video flagship series, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, filmed and completed its third season. The series has been a solid producer for Prime Video. Jean Krasinski turned the role of the government’s intellectual agent into a series that acts like a thinking man thriller. However, where could the show go from here? Well, with thirty-two books in Tom Clancy’s spy series, there are plenty of stories to choose from and tell. Except Krasinski and company have confirmed that the Prime Video series is only in the character’s spirit and name. The series is “torn from the headlines” and inspired by current events.

And the fourth season was greenlit. Unfortunately, there is rampant speculation that this will be the last mission to save the world for Krasinski. So let the speculation begin. Ryan has dealt with incidents in the Middle East. A presidential overthrow in Venezuela. Even a plot to escalate tensions between the United States and Russia to Cold War levels. No story can be banned. With one exception, don’t expect any problems with China. First, the Chinese market matters too much to Hollywood’s results. Second, I have little interest in any scenario that will contribute to the alarming amount of Asian hatred, a disturbing trend that has spread across the world since the pandemic began.

Here are some moments from the headlines over the past five years that we could see happen in episode 1 of season 4 of Jack Ryan. However, we also cross-referenced Tom Clancy’s novels to identify some areas of interest. Keep in mind that the character has faced the USSR in too many moments to add up yet. They touched on South America in Season 2. If you remember, Clancy once wrote about a conflict with Columbia in Clear and present danger. The saturation of spy thrillers in the Middle East has run its course.

The only question left is, where is there left to go?

What could happen in episode 1 of season 4 of Jack Ryan?

The military seized power in Myanmar just as the National League for Democracy (NLD) began a second term in 2021. The military began repressing citizens and uprisings took up arms. The Clancy universe has already told a story in Southeast Asia in Without remorse. Couldn’t you see Jack Ryan on a mission with Greer and the latter complaining about the heat and humidity for added comic relief? The crisis in Myanmar has seen military violence against its citizens increase by 612% since the conflict. While the United States has no status in competitions outside of its jurisdiction, the the position of the state department is, “The United States supports a peaceful, prosperous, and democratic Burma that respects the human rights of all its people.” And with the government investing more than $500 million in humanitarian aid in the region, this clearly shows the interest.

The Sahal

The crisis in sahal is a persistent, expanding and growing instability. According to the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED), the “conflict in the region has been largely fueled by a jihadist insurgency centered in the states of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, which are most affected by the crisis. ”. Currently, according to Business Insider, this is a region that the Clancy universe has not approached. It also doubles as incredibly relevant to today’s modern conflicts. The article by Kamissa Camara of the American Institute for Peace says: “If Washington wants to play an effective role, it needs less counterterrorism, better diplomacy. If that doesn’t sound like the epitome of Jack Ryan, what is?

United States

While the Jack Ryan The series has often focused on foreign terrorists, never on domestic terrorists, think about what the United States has been through in the last five years. A sitting president inciting violence over false claims that the election was stolen from them? Rumors of an election aided by a country that is the sworn enemy of the United States? A president who supported white extremists by saying there are good people on both sides? I could see a season dedicated to an attack on the United States with a plot that could lead to the White House. Do you think the writer will escalate the tension in the first episode with a long string of character deaths? Will someone like Greer or Mike November be killed in the first episode for harboring a secret that Ryan must now solve and catch his killer?

The Domingo “Ding” Chavez Effect

Now, let’s keep in mind that there’s an upcoming Prime Video spin-off set in the Clancy universe. Michael Peña will play the role of Domingo “Ding” Chavez, the character previously directed by breaking bad’s Raymond Cruz in Clear and present danger.

With the introduction of a new character directly related to Clear and present danger, which has a story about a presidential cover-up, I predict the first episode will have a major character death. Why? It will draw the viewer in while investing in Chavez de Peña with a story that will most likely combine foreign affairs that will lead back to the White House.
