Season three draws ever closer to its conclusion, with the Kugelblitz still raging and the Umbrella family falling apart drastically. With so much to unpack, let’s get straight to business.
The Umbrella Academy season 3 episode 7 recap
Poor Klaus has been manipulated and experimented on by his disgusting father for far too long now, but he’s still desperately seeking Reginald’s approval. The father tortures Klaus, killing him over and over again, hoping to train his adopted son to hone these skills and master his immortality. Their training sessions take a comedic turn, however, with Klaus repeatedly getting run over, in haunting slow motion. He manages to shorten the gap between death and resurrection with each subsequent head-on collision, reanimating himself at an increasingly rapid rate.
As Klaus plays with it, the other Umbrella siblings try to save the world, but they can’t even communicate with each other, let alone work together. Allison’s violent actions and unbalanced mental state have dire consequences. She killed Harlan and now argues with Viktor. Then there are the incredibly immoral actions with half-brother Luther. He is still annoyed that Allison hypnotized him into a fleeting affair and she continually uses her abilities for her own selfish ends. It all makes for some really tense moments, with Allison going psychotic and the rest watching in amazement.
Ben rallies the troops for a final push against the Kugelblitz. Viktor, Lila, Sloane and Christopher surround the swirling vortex in the cellar. They create a force field around the Kugelblitz, condensing the black hole until it is small enough to fit inside Christopher’s sturdy cube. Simple as that, right? The next shock wave arrives just in time, though it’s nothing more than a fart out of the concrete box.
Their plan is a success and the academies celebrate in style, landmark Queen “Another One Bites The Dust” and a clumsy dancing dad. It is a real moment of well-being, reinforced by Luther’s marriage proposal to his darling Sloane. More monumental news arrives, when Lila announces to Diego that she is pregnant and that she wants to start a family with him. Stanley was just a test to see how he would react. The knife-wielding rebel is unsure of the proposition. But all seems well, for the moment, the siblings are relieved and the world continues to turn.
The end
Any of you discerning viewers may have noticed that there are still three episodes left in this series, so the fun can’t be over so soon. Well, you are right. This warm, fuzzy feeling deep within us is short-lived, to say the least, and tragedy strikes momentarily. Christopher explodes, causing a huge shockwave, which instantly kills Fei, who was standing right next to the floating cube. The Kugelblitz begins to grow and swell, eclipsing the Academy in moments. Five fast time jumps, trying to save his companions, while the remaining superheroes hide. This totally unplanned event really comes out of nowhere to disrupt all that feel-good energy. Tune in for the next episode to see who survived and who perished. The death toll keeps rising in season three and this Kugelblitz just won’t go away.
