The Terminal List is an action thriller series based on Jack Carr’s bestselling book series. One of the main characters is the main character’s (James Reece) best friend, Ben Edwards. The Friday evenings‘ idol, who was unfairly the scapegoat for box office blockbuster disasters such as Battleship and John Carter, has found its way back into mainstream Hollywood productions lately. All supporting roles in sole survivor, Only the brave, real detectiveand The normal heart. He plays a member of the intelligence community, a CIA agent. He also has his eye on retirement on the beaches of Peru.
So that begs the question:
Who is Ben Edwards in The Terminal List season 1?
Ben Edwards is a respected member of the intelligence community and an active CIA agent.
What does Ben Edwards do?
Well, I’ll take the bandage off right now. Even though he is Reece’s best friend, Ben Edwards was the agent who falsely elevated the intelligence information, which authorized the mission which was an ambush in Syria. Why did he do it? Well, he was told that the whole unit had developed terminal brain cancer. He thought, why not make the men die with their boots on instead of wasting away as they lay in a hospital bed? Before he acted like he was a saint, which I can’t imagine anyone would do, he also took the money. Admiral Pillar arranged for Ben to get a share of Capstone Industries, worth $20 million, once Capstone brokered a merger deal between Nubellum and Plano.
However, Reece only found out in the final moments of the finale. All season, Ben is a sounding board for Lieutenant Commander James Reece. Reece believes his unit’s ambush was a setup, although Ben objects to the idea. He also attends the funeral of Reece’s daughter and wife. Ben shows his support on the little wake on a beach with Reece, Liz and Marco. He takes a bullet helping to infiltrate the sicario’s lair, allows him into Secretary Hartley’s estate, and provides covering fire in several Reece missions to cross names off his list. Ben insists he had nothing to do with his family’s murder, and when he found out he wanted to set the world on fire, just like him.
At the end of the series, Ben is shot off-screen by Reece, ending his Terminal List.
