
The Sandman just dropped on Netflix, but people are already completely smitten with frontman Tom Sturridge.

The 11-part series is based on the comics by Neil Gaiman and follows the Lord of Dreams after escaping the imprisonment of a mortal wizard and attempting to retrieve his lost gear.

Writer Neil responded to a fan on Twitter who asked why Tom wasn’t asked to play Lucifer.
He said: “Because his Lucifer, while inspired by the Lucifer in Sandman, is so far off in terms of continuity from Sandman at the end of LUCIFER, that it’s easier for everyone to go back to the version in comics. And that way you don’t know what our Lucifer is going to do. Tom’s is adorable.
