Why The Terminal List Could Return For Season 2 And Beyond

Following its first eight episodes, James Reece’s story is one that could potentially run and run.

That’s because The Terminal List is based on a series of novels by author Jack Carr that contains five entries.

If Amazon were to adapt one novel per season, the series could in theory run for five seasons and potentially even longer if Jack Carr continues to write new books in the franchise.

The Terminal List series of novels began with the release of the eponymous novel in 2018 which was followed each year by a new story.

In 2019, the novel sequel true believer hit bookstore shelves as the series continued with Wild son, devil’s hand and more recently In the bloodwhich was only released in May 2022.

The creators hint at more

While Amazon Prime Video has yet to officially renew The Terminal List for Season 2, the show’s creators have hinted that there are plans to do more.

Speaking to Screen Rant, author Jack Carr, series head writer Dave DiGilio and pilot director Antoine Fuqua teased that they hope the series continues.

“Fingers crossed,” DeGilio said of the Season 2 prospect while Fuqua responded by saying, “That’s the point.”

“We definitely went into it with this big picture of wanting to do this,” the director continued. “So if we are blessed and [are] successful, Amazon will do it again.

Dave Gilio explained in more detail: “Yes, we have a roadmap for each season ahead of us. The only problem is this man [Carr] writes a book a year, and it takes us a lot longer to do a show.

In response, Carr joked, “I don’t know what their problem is.”
