Story recap – what happened in Harlem season 1 ?
Quinn goes from bad date to bad date, the worst being when her purse is stolen, and she is left in Long Island with no way to get home. While she owns her own business, it doesn’t go very well, and her mother (Jasmine Guy) constantly puts her and the business down. By comparison, Tye has designed a winning app and is getting ready for a Forbes interview. The other member of the “Unbreakable Gang” is Angie. Failing singer, she first declines a role in Get Out: The Musical. But after she falls (and doesn’t) fall in love with Amanuel (Warner Miller), an artist who lives in his car, she reconsiders the role in the musical.
Tye’s luck starts to turn when she goes to the Forbes interview and it is with a previous one-night stand, Anna (Kate Rockwell). While the interview goes well, Tye doesn’t part ways with Anna on friendly terms after having a few dates. Angie has the same luck that when she goes to start working on the musical, she has to pay a fee of $ 600. And so, Angie is pretending to be a nanny to get the extra money. For Camille, she ends up coming face to face with Ian, even though she finds it hard to learn that he is now engaged. The affair gets even worse when Camille accidentally protests against the restaurant of which he is the chef.
To clear her head, Camille goes out with Jameson (Sullivan Jones), but as such, she misses a meeting with Dr. Elise Pruitt and finds herself demoted. Quinn finally finds a guy she loves, Shawn (Robert Ri’chard). But she struggles with the fact that he’s a stripper with a son, JJ ((Tyler Williams). However, her business is finally gaining work. The only problem is that it comes down to designing a dress from. married for Ian Mira’s fiancee (Rana Roy) It almost causes a falling out with the “Unbreakable” gang, but before long they are all friends again.
This is also good, as Tye needs them when she collapses and ends up in the hospital. And while Tye is doing well, the other three are shocked to learn that she has a husband. Hoping to improve her career, Camille visits Dr Elise Pruitt and asks for his support for the position of Associate. It is immediately closed, Camille being told that she is not ready.
For the eighth episode, Harlem offers us a flashback episode. The episode shows us that when Camille and Ian were about to move to Paris, they broke up just as Ian was about to propose. Quinn, meanwhile, had a career that made her mother proud. But as it made her unhappy, she quit to open her own business, which disappoints her mother very much. Tye gets dumped by his girlfriend Melissa (Ebonee Noel) after revealing everything about her husband and how she suddenly left him. In the flashback episode, Angie was a rising star, but when her single failed to achieve any success, it was dropped.
The last two episodes of Harlem take us back to the current timeline. After a dress rehearsal of Get Out: The Musical Tye tells Angie that the musical is terrible. Quinn keeps JJ as a way to bond with her and therefore help her relationship with Shawn. But, as such, Quinn ends up bonding with Isabela (Juani Feliz), and Quinn asks Isabela to go out with him. Tye tries and fails to get Brandon to sign the divorce papers, which can mean a nasty divorce battle is underway.
Angie learns that one of the main stars of Get Out: The Musical was forced to withdraw. Thus, Angie is promoted to the rank of the main stars. But his happiness was short-lived as the musical was soon withdrawn from production. The first season of Harlem ends just as Camille and Ian reveal they still love each other. As they kiss, Ian’s fiancée, Mira, watches them.
