He’s back and what better way to return than with some exciting new additions to the cast?

Based on Gerard Way’s comic book series of the same name – from My Chemical Romance – The Umbrella Academy hit Netflix in 2019 and subverted the superhero genre with its bold cast of characters.

Needless to say, audiences gladly embraced this refreshing change of pace and it was inevitably renewed for a second season.

The second season may have caught up with the source material, but that didn’t mean the show’s creators were going to shy away from the challenge. Everything but. We now have season 3 of The Umbrella Academy and fans can’t help but be interested in the performers who make this fascinating new adventure.

As you know, Sparrow Academy consists of a number of Sparrows, including Marcus and Ben Fei.

Here are the actors who play them and why they might look familiar:

Justin Cornwell is Marcus, Sparrow number one

Leading the Sparrows we have Marcus, and Justin Cornwell is perhaps best known for playing young Jeronicus in 2020’s Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey.

However, the 33-year-old American actor has also shown his talents in efforts such as The InBetween (he played Damien) and I Am The Night (Terrence).

Justin H Min is Ben Hargreeves, Sparrow number two

Number two, but certainly not a mere second fiddle in the group dynamic, is Ben Hargreeves.

The actor behind the character is none other than Justin H Min.

Although fans are already familiar with the 32-year-old from his previous work on the show, some may not be aware of his performances aboard previous titles such as Dating After College (Cameron), After Yang (Yang ) and New Amsterdam. (Jason Wang)

Britne Oldford is Fei, sparrow number three

29-year-old Canadian actress Britne Oldford shines as the incredibly smart and ruthless Fei.

If you’re a seasoned superhero fan, you’ll instantly recognize her for playing Shawna Baez on The CW series The Flash. If not, there’s plenty more where that came from, as she was also in The Path (Noa), Bull (Ronnie), Blindspot (Claudia) and beyond.

• HUSTLE: BASED ON A TRUE STORY?

Jake Epstein is Alphonso, Sparrow Number Four

Another Canadian actor is 35-year-old Jake Epstein, although in his role at Umbrella Academy you’d be forgiven for not being able to tell him apart beneath his jarring exterior.

All his actions are written on his body; all the pain inflicted on others tells a story on his face.

But that’s enough for Alphonso. Fans of Degrassi: The Next Generation? Well, he played Craig Manning and also became a recognizable presence thanks to a stint on Suits (Brian Altman).

Genesis Rodriguez is Sloane, Sparrow Number Five

Genesis Rodriguez nails it as Sloane and has arguably resonated the most with Sparrows audiences thus far.

The 34-year-old American actress is from Miami and has gained solid credibility in the realm of telenovelas thanks to her work on Prisionera, Doña Bárbara and Dame Chocolate.

Cazzie David is Jayme, Sparrow Number Six

The 28-year-old American actress often comes close to stealing the show thanks to Jayme’s wild spitting ability. Her work on Disney’s Eighty-Sized and Hannah Montana (Cazzie) TV miniseries made her someone to watch.

More recent work includes Life & Beth (Katie), while she also has a screenwriting career.

The Umbrella Academy is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
