Sky Rojo ends with season 3 and the finale made Romeo actor cry just by reading it

January 14, 2023

Álex Pina is behind a handful of shows, but many became aware of his talents with the arrival of Money Heist, a crime drama series that quickly became a phenomenon and spawned a Halloween costume that will stick around for generations. While many audiences continue to flock to him, he has since created a new fandom with Sky Rojo.

The Spanish drama masterfully blends action and dark comedy and was co-created by Alex and Esther Martínez Lobato.

Back when Season 1 premiered in March 2021, the story of three prostitutes escaping their pimp instantly captivated audiences.

Luckily, we’ve been able to chronicle Coral, Wendy, and Gina on the run since. On the other hand, the time has come to consider season 4 of Sky Rojo, but is it renewed?

Is Sky Rojo renewed for season 4 on Netflix?

No, it has already been officially confirmed that Sky Rojo Season 3 will serve as the final season of the series.

The third and final season premiered on Netflix on Friday, January 13, and will offer fans the definitive conclusion to the central trio of characters.

There was no announcement about its cancellation, so it’s likely that Alex and Esther envisioned the project as a three-season arc from the start, with the writers able to end the story without having scrambling to condense the rest of the plot into a single season.

How many episodes in Sky Rojo season 3?

Sky Rojo Season 3 is made up of only eight episodes in total.

This may come as no surprise given that the previous two seasons offered the same number of installments.

All eight episodes premiered on the same day and are available now on Netflix, with the series finale titled Gold, Frankincense and Lead.

“I was very sad to read the ending”

Miguel Ángel Silvestre (who plays Moisés) recently spoke to El Confidencial about how emotional he felt when he learned that season 3 would be the last:

“I was very sad to read the ending, I started crying. It hurt me a lot when I read it, I was very empty. I called Álex Pina because I needed to share everything the result generated for me. Loved the ending, but needed a long talk with someone who is very knowledgeable about life story, long term judgment, second chances…”

He continued, “…and he told me a lot of things. You in this life are the people you surround yourself with and what you eat. And I think Moisés was very unlucky in that regard.

Sky Rojo streams exclusively on Netflix.
