Selling OC Season 1 Review – A Very Entertaining Reality Show

August 24, 2022

This review of the Netflix reality series Selling the OC season 1 contains no spoilers.

We have a spin-off of the series sell sunset fall on Netflix in Sell CO. Is the series worth a binge? Let’s dive into it.

Twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim open a brand new real estate office in Orange County, California. The series follows 11 area realtors as they fight their way through to sell these MASSIVE homes to their clients.

From the outset, we set the tone of the issues in this area. We are presented with this MASSIVE home in Laguna Beach that will result in an agent commission of over $3 MILLION. My friends, I have to become a real estate agent because it’s ABSURD. The house agents are discussing the money they could receive if they sold this house. You can tell it’s about to start a battle between these people, and I’m here for it.

The whole series felt like everyone was made to hate Gio, but honestly he was my favorite part of the series. Sure, the guy can come off as a jerk, but I couldn’t kick the man for wanting to be the best real estate agent. Another thing I liked about him was how communicative he was. He was always playing all sides and was the type to start something and step back and watch the situation explode.

The series culmination sees the band reach over $100 MILLION in sales, and the Oppenheim brothers treat the agents to a yacht party. But sadly, while we’re meant to celebrate, these folks couldn’t resist being wrapped up in so much drama. The Alexandra duo pissed everyone off, and I really want to see some of these ladies come to blows because they were heated. However, the Alexandra duo got the last laugh because when everyone came back, they had sold a $20 million house which had earned them over $600,000 in commission. So when I say that was my favorite moment, IT WAS. I need a season two NOW.

Look, if you know me, I love trashy reality TV, and Sell CO that’s 100% that. It’s dramatic, wild, and has fun personalities that you easily love or hate. I think what sets it apart are the luxurious homes that will leave you in awe. When you mix that in with these people trying to sell these homes to maintain the lavish lifestyles they live, it’s downright entertaining TV.

All in all, if you’re a fan of sell sunset, you will be 100% equally invested in each of these characters and in the series. But dare I say I enjoyed it Sell CO more … than sell sunset? I believe this one had a bit more drama and hooked me even more.
