Renewed or canceled – will there be a Five Days at Memorial season 2?

September 10, 2022

This article explains (or speculates) if there will be a Season 2 of the Apple TV+ series Five Days at Memorial and its renewed or canceled status.

READ: Five Days at Memorial review.

Five days at the Memorial was a series that followed doctors and nurses in the intensive care unit of a New Orleans hospital struggling to treat patients in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The series was a whirlwind of emotions as it was an inside look at what happened during one of the greatest disasters of our generation.

The series is based on a book written by Sheri Fink. Fink has interviewed hundreds of people who have dealt with the aftermath, from doctors to nurses to patients. You get first-hand insight into their lack of support during the disaster and some of the heartbreaking decisions the doctors had to make. The whole series has you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out which side you really were on.

Will there be a season 2 of the Apple TV+ series? Five days at the Memorial – renewed or canceled status

Status: Not renewed

At the moment there is no update as to whether or not we will get a season two of Five days at the Memorial. However, with the show being based on a true story and us witnessing everything that happened, I’m not sure it can go in many directions.

However, depending on the show’s success, they might try to explore the series in different ways, one of which is a docuseries. Apple TV+ has become a staple of docuseries lately, and I could see them doing something around that story. I believe there’s a lot more they could take from this story that would inspire people to tune in (including me).

Some of the doctors and nurses portrayed by these actors could talk about the heartbreaking events that transpired. I’d even be interested to see if Apple TV+ would be able to bring Dr. Anna Pou herself onto the show to talk about her side of the story. Another idea that might work would be for the person representing the doctor or nurse to be the one conducting the interview.

The more I type about it, the more I think to myself how much I would love for this to happen. After watching this series, do you share the same feeling as me? Would you like to watch a docu-series based on Five days at the Memorial? Let us know in the comments below.

You can watch this series with an Apple TV+ subscription.
