This recap of Remarriage & Desires season 1, episode 3 contains spoilers.
Things haven’t been going well for Hye-seung ever since. Remarriage & Desires episode 3, as in an early scene, we see his idiot boss imply right in front of Min-ji that Hye-seung is working with Yoo-hui. Of course, Min-ji knows the name. Why wouldn’t she? She’s the woman who ruined her father’s life, killed him in a devious way, and ruined Min-ji’s life in the process. Everything Min-ji is going through right now — the falling grades, the bullying — could somehow be blamed on Yoo-hui, so she’s dismayed to learn that her mother took a handout from her, of all people. His devastation only further fractures their already delicate relationship, and Hye-seung’s boss really has a lot to answer for.
Remarriage & Desires season 1, episode 3 recap
Furious, Min-ji goes to Yoo-hui’s workplace to threaten her, which backfires dramatically when Yoo-hui tells her that her father was a rapist and threatens to give her all the gory details. She also sees this as an attack from Hye-seung. Of course, Hye-seung is disgusted at how upset Yoo-hui has upset Min-ji, which is at least part of the reason why she chose to attend the masquerade ball.
Yes, this episode again plays a little fast and loose over time. Even though we got to the ball at the end of the previous episode, we’re stepping back a bit here for some extra context. Secrecy around the entire enterprise is paramount since the identity of a high-ranking Super Black Level member, the mysterious Zeus, must be protected. Even Yoo-hui, who bribes his account manager with Chanel bags and threatens to tell Ms. Choi about their arrangement, can’t seem to get close to him. It doesn’t matter anyway, since Ms. Choi secretly swapped it with Hermes, another Dark Level member named Cha Seok-jin, as she wants to see how Seok-jin behaves around women.
The party has plenty of glitz and glamour, and even a dance, as Yoo-hui – who looks quite stunning, it must be said – draws attention to herself as Aphrodite in the movie. hoping to attract the attention of Zeus. However, she doesn’t know that Zeus isn’t who she thinks she is, which is especially funny when Hermes, aka Hyung-ju, tries to talk to him and she curtly pushes him away. Of course, Hye-seung finds out who Yoo-hui is from her tattoo and throws some shade at her because you can’t have a fancy party without it.
Anyway, Seok-jin is Hye-seung’s ex-boyfriend who left her to study abroad without really saying anything about it, and she’s still very salty about it ( (there’s been some teasing in previous episodes, but nothing significant enough to mention so far.) You won’t be surprised to hear that Hye-seung, as Athena, immediately bonds with Hermes on their shared love of classic literature and the connection between mythology and acting, which leaves Yoo-hui bubbling. She gets along with Hermès and does she know Zeus? It just can’t hold! Yoo-hui manages to get Zeus’ attention by doing the whole “fake a fall” routine.
At the end of the party, Ms. Choi spouts names, and everyone comes forward and takes off their masks to reveal themselves. When Hye-seung’s turn comes, she turns to Yoo-hui and announces that she came here to tell everyone about the woman who took everything from her. Oh oh !
