Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary – Everything we know about the Netflix special

August 17, 2022

This article is about the Netflix special documentary film Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary, including the premise, release date, cast, and trailer.

Netflix continues to expand its library of content from The Witcher. After 2021’s The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, we’ll soon have another companion film to watch in the form of Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary, an 11-minute follow-up to last year’s animated feature.

Here’s everything we know about Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary:

Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary Premise

As Netflix describes it –

“Dig into the dark mythological origins of the many monsters – manticores, wraiths, werewolves, etc. – who stalk “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf”.

Our opinion on the principle

It sounds very extra. Additional brackets to go along with the main functionality seem a bit too much. Then again, is what Netflix is doing with these ‘companion’ movies different from the old fashioned DVD extras we used to get when more of us bought the movies and TV shows we watched ? Still, if I was someone considering stepping into The Witcher universe, having such a huge range of shorts and spin-offs when the flagship series hasn’t even released its third season would be more than a little intimidating.

The manufacturing team

Information about the production team behind Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary is not yet known, however, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to assume that it will largely be retained by the same team that produced The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary Cast

Release date of Nightmare of the Wolf: Bestiary

The special documentary will be released worldwide on August 23, 2022.

Is there a trailer?

No.

We get it… Netflix takes great pride in their work around The Witcher, and there’s no doubt die-hard fans will love every crumb the streamer puts into the world. It’s just a lot to come across when you search for the show on the platform and more than ten suggestions come up. How deep do things have to go? It seems like every new movie or season comes with an encyclopedia, as well as a deep behind-the-scenes dive, so literally every side of the related content is covered. It’s exhausting just to watch!
