The role of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in The Lincoln Lawyer

2022 Lincoln’s lawyer is an adaptation of the 2011 film of the same name, which saw Matthew McConaughey play the lawyer, Mickey Haller, who got too involved in his client’s cases.

The ten-episode series operates on a similar premise but casts Mexican actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo in its lead role.

Both stories are inspired by Michael Connelly’s 2005 book series, but the Netflix version will be based specifically on the second novel, The Brass Verdict.

In the latest rendition, Haller works as a criminal defense attorney who works from the back seat of his Lincoln Town Car.

Connelly, who works as the show’s executive producer, said, “Manuel is the perfect Mickey Haller, as Haller follows in the footsteps of his lawyer father with the showmanship of his Mexican movie star mother.

“Manuel brings a powerful dynamic and dimension to the role that aligns with the books and will give the series an opportunity to celebrate Latinx heritage and the roots of this LA-based story. »
