Who took the bonds in Kaleidoscope?

The bonds were taken by Leo’s daughter, Hannah.

As the episodes do not take place in chronological order, it is revealed in snatches that Leo and his crew, even weeks after the heist, did not know who had taken the bonds.

Once Leo’s motives for revenge are revealed, it quickly becomes apparent that there’s a lot more going on than meets the eye. His current plan relies entirely on his inner woman, Hannah.

Leo insisted that Hannah not be present during the actual heist, trying to protect her from being associated with the crime and any consequences that might follow.

On the day of the heist, Hannah ignores her father’s orders and comes up with her own plan. With the help of her adoptive sister Liz, the sisters are able to intercept the Bonds when unattended during an elevator ride for a short time between the safe and their exit from the building.

During this brief period, Hannah gets on the elevator and trades the bonds. She puts blank sheets of paper in their place to make sure no one notices them missing.

Why did Hannah accept the bonds?

Rather than keep them for herself, Hannah returns the bonds to their owners, betraying her father’s wishes.

This betrayal may come as a shock to some fans as Hannah and Leo have a close relationship.

However, she did it to protect him. She understood the bigger consequences at stake and didn’t want Leo on the run for the rest of his life.

The owners of the bonds were very powerful people, whom Hannah knew Leo shouldn’t make an enemy of.
