As we navigate through Kaleidoscopewe moved on to the episode titled “Purple.” The first three episodes I watched were “Yellow,” “Green,” and “Orange.” As we switch to “Orange”, we see a lot of things happening, including the FBI getting hold of Ava (Paz Vega) and turning her into potentially a person inside. So now that Ava is back with the team, what does that mean for the team as a whole? Let’s dive into it.

Kaleidoscope Season 1 Episode “Purple” Recap

The title card appears where it says it’s 24 years before the heist. Leo tells, talking about his choices for his wife and daughter, and he wants to quit but doesn’t know if he can. Then we see roger discuss business with a man in a bar, where they see women while Leo pulls off his own robbery. At this point, we find out that Roger and Leo were working together, which if you paid attention, we knew there was a story, but we didn’t know what it was.

After the heist, Leo realized how close he was to either dying or not getting out of the safe because Roger mentioned he couldn’t have gotten him out. So Leo comes home to give his wife a bracelet, sees a young Hannah (his daughter), and take him to lunch. That’s when we find out the backstory of how Hannah and Leo started a little game where they see a family and have to dissect their story. It’s a cute little game. At breakfast, Roger calls her and tells her that they have a job in Vegas.

Moments later, when he tries to close off the jewelry he just brought Ava, she says they have a huge job to do. Afterwards, Leo goes home to talk to his wife about quitting, but she asks the million dollar question if he can quit. Afterwards, Roger and his girlfriend show up for dinner. Of course, Leo presents Roger with the idea of quitting, but he retorts by slowing down instead. Eventually, Leo tells him he’s finished for good, but Roger doesn’t take it too well.

Now that Leo is out, he’s opening up a parking lot, but things aren’t going so well financially. After his wife and Hannah leave, Roger shows up to talk to her. And allow me to pause for a moment to talk about this overbearing score which is boring because it is too loud. They try to talk and the music is so loud you can barely hear them. It’s a common theme throughout the show that bothers me. Roger tells Leo that he has over 200,000 and needs help to get out of trouble.

Leo arrives at the club to see his wife, and the receptionist gives him a bit of a hard time. However, he overhears Hannah screaming, leading to a big confrontation with Leo and Leo’s wife boss. She gets fired and Leo gets together with Roger to talk about the next job. Leo goes to the office to say Lily about the job, but before he can do it, she stops him and says they understood and didn’t care.

The ending explained

At home, Lily gets a call from her old boss telling her she has to come to work. Of course, they need the money, so she goes to a place where Leo is trying to pull off a heist. During the change of the first diamonds, we see Lily arrive to find out what she should do. However, the job takes some time and Roger can’t stop them, so Leo has to hide, and the security guard stops Leo, but Roger comes to save the day. They bring down the guard and Roger starts a fire to buy them some time.

However, as he exits, Leo notices Lily’s car is outside and rushes inside to retrieve it. Unfortunately, we see her caught in the fire, and he can’t reach her, but he makes eye contact with Roger, who can reach him, but Roger walks away. Finally, we find out why the stakes for this heist are so high because Roger got away instead of saving Leo’s wife. While in the hospital, Leo sees the cops coming and gives Hannah a little speech which leads to him introducing her to Ava and going with her, never looking back. What moment, what episode.
