January 23, 2023

You’ll never run out of movies to watch if you have a Netflix subscription and the platform’s exciting and steady stream of Originals has thankfully continued to pour in into 2023 with a range of titles. As sequels to Murder Mystery and Extraction loom in the distance, futuristic sci-fi film Jung_E has already arrived.

Released on Netflix on Friday January 20, 2023, it is the latest feature film from South Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho.

He is best known for directing the acclaimed 2016 horror film Train To Busan, which was quickly hailed as one of the most impressive zombie films ever made by fans.

His latest tells the story of a researcher at an AI lab who works to end a civil war in the post-apocalyptic near future. She tries to do this by cloning the brain of her mother, a revered soldier.

While there’s a lot to digest throughout the film’s runtime, many will have their attention stolen by Jung_E’s “In Memory Of” tribute at the end…
