Everyone’s Favorite Adult Animated Superhero Show Invincible has been on hiatus for over a year in preparation for Season 2, but fans of Steven Yeun’s titular hero are growing impatient.

With Season 2 release date theories circulating and possible plot points teased, we reveal everything we know about Invincible Season 2.

Created by Robert Kirkman for Amazon Prime Video and based on the Image Comics series of the same name by Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, the adult animated superhero series Invincible follows teenager Mark Grayson and stars Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, JK Simmons, and more.

Invincible fans are getting impatient for season 2

One fan used hyperbole to point out the long wait fans have endured for season 2 of the show:

Another fan has apologized in advance for the person he will become once season 2 airs, alongside season 2 of Esoteric and Heart stroke:

Invincible Season 2 Release Window

Invincible only received a single eight-episode season which debuted in March 2021.

The show’s official Twitter account confirmed after Season 1 aired that the anime had been renewed for a second and third season.

Since voice work on Season 2 didn’t begin until April 2022, many reporters, including Tech Radar, believe Season 2 won’t air until 2023.

In addition, Invincible The official Twitter account recently shared an image of Malese Jow’s character, Kate Cha, and some fans believe the caption revealed the Season 2 release date to be July 14, 2023.

Cast Return and Plot Preview

The return of Steven Yeun’s protagonist, Mark Grayson, and JK Simmons’ Nolan has been confirmed, however, we expect the following recurring cast members to also return in Season 2:

As for the plot, Season 1 ended with Omni-Man venturing to an unknown destination in space, leaving Mark to defend Earth from the Viltrumite Empire.

Season 2 is set to pick up right after Season 1 ends, which should reveal where Omini-Man is. As Mark and Allen bond as they await the Viltrumite invasion, their friendship may also become more important.

Fans also have their theories about the plot of Season 2, with some speculating that Mark could fight Conquest in round two and hopefully see his father again.
