I Used to Be Famous (2022) – Everything We Know About the Movie

September 10, 2022

This article is about Netflix movie I Used to Be Famous (2022) including premise, release date, cast and trailer.

In 2015, writer and director Eddie Sternberg won several awards on the UK festival circuit for the short film I used to be famous. Fast forward to today and the full version of the movie is about to drop on Netflix after a short, limited theatrical run. The film tells the touching story of the unlikely friendship between a former pop star and a young autistic protege.

I was famous premise

According to Netflix’s synopsis, I Used to Be Famous is about, “A former boy band star unexpectedly gets a second chance at success when he forms a bond with a gifted young drummer. ”

Our opinion on the principle

Described by Sternberg as “heartfelt rather than cheesy”, the film seems determined to touch the viewer’s heart. We are preparing for a tearful comedy-drama. The film may provide insight into what happens to people who found fame at a young age only to be spat out by the cutthroat entertainment industry. The main character never really left his teenage years and spends his adulthood performing unsuccessfully on the streets of Peckham. Movies about unlikely friendships have been made before, but the washed-out angle puts an interesting twist on the genre.
