The Witcher returned to Netflix for Season 2 on December 17, 2021, almost two years to the day since Season 1 debuted in 2019.

Season 2 picks up on the events of the previous episode as Geralt is convinced that Yennefer perished in the Battle of Sodden and he decides to bring Ciri to the safest place he knows, the Witcher’s Fortress of Kaer Morhen.

As the world around them threatens to crumble in violence and intrigue, Geralt must face something far more dangerous, the mysterious power that is building within Ciri.

Season 2 of The Witcher will consist of eight episodes in total.

This should come as no surprise to seasoned fans, as Season 1 also featured eight episodes.

Each Season 2 episode lasts between 52 and 63 minutes, which means fans will need to devote around eight hours to binge on Season 2.
