Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40K: Rahul Kohli and Asa Butterfield claim roles

Henry Cavill is set to star and produce a live-action Warhammer 40K series, with fellow fans Rahul Kohli and Asa Butterfield demanding their own roles.

Warhammer and the wider 40K universe is arguably the greatest sci-fi franchise of all time – it certainly boasts the deepest lore of any fantasy franchise to date.

In truth, it’s incredibly easy to fall down the 40K rabbit hole; with entire novels, web encyclopedias, tabletop games and comics for nearly every subspecies of this vast universe… and you better believe the streaming giants are watching Warhammer with money signs in the eyes.

This week it was revealed that Henry Cavill will be directing a new adaptation of the Warhammer 40K live-action series with Amazon Studios, with other Warhammer fans and actors now demanding their own involvement in what could be, the greatest science fiction series ever produced.

On December 15, The Hollywood Reporter shared that Henry Cavill is officially attached to star and executive produce a live-action adaptation of the Warhammer 40K series with Amazon Studios.

According to the message, “Amazon is in final talks for the rights to the game, produced by Games Workshop, after months of negotiations and defense against rival companies who were also seeking the rights.”

However, the only information we have on the series so far is that the deal is still being finalized with Vertigo Entertainment also working on the series (Death Note, 2017; It Chapter Two, 2019; Doctor Sleep, 2019 ).

Cavill is a well-known fan of the Warhammer franchise and will now be looking for his next big project after it was announced earlier this week that the 39-year-old would be hanging up the red Superman cape after Warner Bros confirmed a switch. in direction.

Cavill also recently revealed he will be leaving Netflix’s The Witcher series, to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt.

Following news of Cavill’s stepping down as Superman, the internet erupted in support for the English actor – especially since Geralt’s controversial cast in another of Cavill’s beloved roles.

One actor in particular who must have anticipated the Warhammer announcement was Rahul Kohli, who posted on Twitter that he and Cavill are set to produce a Warhammer movie or series just hours before The Hollywood Reporter published their story.

“Okay, but if it hits 40,000 likes ten, that’s it, gotta do it. It’s the law.” – Rahul Kohli, via Twitter.

Another Warhammer fan, Asa Butterfield, would also chime in, responding to Kohli’s post with, “Please. I’ll play a minion if need be. Kohli responded with a heart emoji and a note-taking gif.

Kohli is an English actor who is best known for his roles as Dr Ravi Chakrabarti in iZombie (2015-19), Owen Sharma in The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020) and Sheriff Hassan in Midnight Mass (2021).

The 37-year-old has also starred in Supergirl, Harley Quinn, The Midnight Club, and will star in the upcoming series The Fall of the House of Usher, which is slated to premiere in 2023.

Butterfield is arguably best known for playing Otis in the Netflix series Sex Education, having had previous roles in The Boy in Striped Pajamas (2008), Ender’s Game (2013), Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016) and Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018).
