The first episode of Ginny & Georgia season 1 saw the titular mother-daughter duo and nine-year-old Austin arrive in the town of Wellsbury, Massachusetts after leaving their old home and living in Texas behind them.
To say their welcome to Wellsbury wasn’t warm would be an understatement, but as the opening episodes progressed, the children quickly began to find their feet in their respective new schools while Georgia got a job as mayor where sparks quickly began to fly between her and Mayor Paul Randolph.

No, Wellsbury is not a real place in Massachusetts.
Instead, the town is a fictional creation that was dreamed up for the series itself.

Where was Ginny & Georgia filmed?
Ginny & Georgia was filmed in Toronto and Cobourg in the province of Ontario in Canada.
That’s right, not only was the show not filmed in Massachusetts where it’s supposed to be set, it wasn’t even filmed in the same country.
Many locations across Toronto and surrounding areas hosted filming, including TriBro Studios which hosted much of the show’s interior filming.
In addition to this, 46 Baby Point Crescent in the Parkdale-High Park neighborhood of York replaced Ginny, Georgia and Austin’s new home, while number 45 across the street doubled as the home of their neighbours, the Bakers according to Atlas Of Wonders.
Ginny’s Wellsbury High School was actually filmed at the now disused Nelson A. Boylen Collegiate Institute in the Toronto neighborhood of Rustic, which was open to students from 1966 until it closed in 2016.
Meanwhile, filming also took place in the suburban town of Cobourg, located about an hour’s drive from Toronto.
