We recap the Netflix series Ginny and Georgia Season 2 Episode 7, “Let Us Serenade the Sh*t Out of You”, which will contain major spoilers.

Season 2 Episode 7 may feel a bit disappointing after the Christmas chapter, but it has a rather intriguing therapy session in between. Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia (Brianne Howey). The story continues to ramp up, giving no indication of how it will end.

Ginny and Georgia Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

After an emotional Christmas, Season 2 Episode 7 opens with Ginny and Georgia munching on food and watching their favorite movies. They haven’t left the couch in days. Ginny learns that Mark is back, so Georgia gives her the space to go see him. Their couch time is over.

And then Georgia faces If we about self-harm and Ginny’s therapy. She is angry that he hid it from her. Afterwards, Georgia talks to Gil. He insists he’s changed, but she doesn’t trust him. Gil explains how he missed her and that there is sexual tension between them. However, Georgia rejects this idea. Gil clarifies that he just wants to see his son.

Ginny presents a book to the class, as her teacher asks her to. The teacher asks everyone to read three chapters and says that Ginny will lead the class discussion next time. This throws Ginny off – once again she is singled out by this professor with a diary.

Vest Austin go home. Paul immediately takes on the “stepdad role” and tells Austin to go to bed. And then Zion drops Ginny off. It’s awkward between the three men, and it’s almost a western. Sion is surprised to see Gil released from prison. Gil leaves, and Paul and Sion agree that they both dislike Gil.

Why are they in therapy together?

Georgia goes to therapy with Ginny. She wants to attend the session and find out what is going on with her daughter. Ginny allows her mother to stay. The therapist tells Georgia that she doesn’t respect Ginny’s boundaries. Ginny expresses that she has always been alone and has moved to new towns. She wants her mother to understand her and her limitations, including that she is black. She wants to be listened to. Georgia agrees but also wants to be heard. Ginny explains that Georgia is a force that takes up a lot of space, barely leaving room for her.

After a tough therapy session, Georgia needs a drink. Ginny pulls out Marcus’ flask and they have a chance together. Georgia tells Ginny that vulnerability is her superpower. Ginny opens up and explains that she has to make a lesson plan at school, which she doesn’t want to do.

Ginny lectures her English teacher based on the book she recommended. She tells the teacher that “it sucks” because she got noticed and leaves. She tells the teacher that she is giving up English. Maxine follows her, and Ginny regrets, but she doesn’t know what to do next. She feels like no one else speaks for her, including Maxine. She wants more support from her friends.

End of episode 7 of season 2 of Ginny and Georgia

Georgia hosts a surprise bachelorette party at Joe’s Restaurant. In a flashback, a young Georgia brings a birthday cake for Ginny in front of Gil and Zion. Back in the present, Georgia is having a lot of fun with her daughters. Maxine apologizes to Ginny for not being there for her. And then, private investigator Gabriel also shows up at the party. Ginny confronts him and tells him to leave. Gabriel leaves immediately.

When Georgia returns home, she learns that Gil has taken Austin and panics, but they both quickly return. Season 5 episode 7 ends with Georgia checking her hidden handgun.

You can feel it. It’s not going to end well. Season 2 episode 7 may not be the best chapter, but you never get bored.

Ginny and Georgia Additional Plot Points

  • Georgia tells Ellen she doesn’t want a bachelorette party.
  • At school, Marcus shows up exhausted, and Ginny and Maxine are shocked. And then Georgia comes along, so they have to make Marcus look sober.
  • Maxine takes care of a drunk Marcus. Marcus worries that Ginny doesn’t like him.
  • Abby needs emotional support and asks Ginny to chat at Joe’s restaurant. Abby reveals that her dad has a new girlfriend and she should meet them.
