While the director hints that ideas are being discussed, fans can hope that Netflix will greenlight the production of Enola Holmes 3.
Enola Holmes is back with another entertaining misadventure, as we delve into the life of the rising detective as she tries to step out of her brother’s famous shadow.
Arguably better than the first movie, despite the rather disappointing conclusion, millions of viewers around the world are already desperate to see Millie Bobbie Brown return as Holmes’ star detective once again.
While Netflix has yet to publicly confirm that Enola Holmes 3 will be produced, the cast and production crew have already hinted at plans to create more content for the streaming giant.

The future looks bright for Enola Holmes 3
As previously reported, neither Netflix nor the producers of Enola Holmes have confirmed that a third film will be produced; however, the main cast and director are hoping for more mishaps to come.
Director Harry Bradbeer told SlashFilm how “there’s already a lot of talk” about a third film.
“There’s a lot of discussion and thinking, and there’s a lot we can do. So we kind of have the embarrassment of wealth. We are thinking about it. – Harry Bradbeer, via SlashFilm
In fact, in 2020 before the premiere of the first film, Bradbeer said he hoped to have the energy to produce up to five Enola Holmes films.
“That would be great. Somebody’s gonna have the energy for that! It would be wonderful to shoot five more films from this scene. I think these are amazing stories to tell, and what a time… Who knows what other challenges will come out of this really turbulent and productive time. – Harry Bradbeer, via Decider.
The filmmaker also revealed that the idea of a prequel film centering on Enola’s mother, Eudoria, played by Helena Bonham Carter, is also on the table.
Lead Millie Bobbie Brown has also confirmed her interest in returning for a third Enola Holmes film. Speaking to ScreenRant, the superstar actress shared, “I would love to be part of another one. I would love to see her do more business, be put under pressure, be put in crazy situations, make her feel vulnerable again. I love seeing her back at work.
Additionally, Henry Cavill also revealed that he would love to return as Sherlock, but shared that his participation would likely depend on his incredibly busy schedule.
“Interested? Yes, only time will tell. I mean, I’m pretty busy these days. So it’s just about making sure everything lines up and I can give every character my full attention and dedication. – Henry Cavill, via SlashFilm

Popular enough for another mishap?
While the wishes of the production team and cast may have fans thinking optimistically about the possibility of the third movie, it’s important to note that another movie is solely dependent on audience demand.
Indeed, Netflix has been known to cut free productions that do not meet the necessary viewing requirements to be considered worthy of the return on investment.
Fortunately, the two films by Enola Holmes should prove popular enough to merit a third production, despite rather disappointing initial audience scores.
The first film was rated at 6.6/10 on IMDB, with scores of 91% and 70% viewed on the Average Tomatometer and Viewership Ratings from Rotten Tomatoes.
Meanwhile, the recently released sequel sits at 6.9/10 on IMDB, hitting 92% and 84% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes.
