Dear Edward Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

This episode begins with Eddie and his family’s belongings deposited at Aunt Lacey’s. These objects and, later, specific places trigger painful memories for Eddie, who is still struggling to cope with grief. Shay decides to take it easy and research the gift the stranger left for Eddie. The shrunken head comes from the Museum of the Strange and the Particular. She suggests they go to this Manhattan museum to find Eddie’s number one fan.

Why are Dee Dee and Linda traveling to Los Angeles?

Meanwhile, Linda and Dee Dee spot each other on the same flight to Los Angeles. I don’t understand why these two get on a plane so eagerly after the disaster. I don’t think I will ever set foot on a plane again. Anyway, Linda left to meet her boyfriend’s parents for the first time, to tell them about her pregnancy. While Dee Dee goes to investigate her husband’s secret apartment. Linda isn’t too surprised to find out that by Gary her parents knew nothing of her existence or of her pregnancy. She reiterates that she isn’t looking for anything in return, she just wanted them to know the truth. Parents are actually thrilled.

Dee Dee is having less fun at the condo. She wanders around the building in a daze. It’s like seeing another person’s life. Charles seems like a totally different person in this house, with a guitar and a vinyl player. Dee Dee then discovers a letter from Noelle with a return address on it. Of course, she heads straight for her husband’s lover’s house to confront the wrecker. Noelle is actually married with one child and was not having an affair after all. Charles volunteered at his center for LGBTQ youth. Dee Dee is completely perplexed with each new revelation. She leaves in floods of tears.

How do Kojo and Adriana bond?

Kojo and Adriana reconnect. Adriana is having a little depression, she has decided to run as an MP, but she doesn’t have enough signatures. Her toilet is malfunctioning and she cannot sleep at night. Kojo offers to help her with signings and toilets. This allows to beck and Adriana to bond. The niece finally addresses the death of her mother. Kojo and Becks aren’t much better, they’ve been kicked out of their apartment and live in a dodgy room next to a restaurant. Adriana suggests they stay with her instead. Is love there between Adriana and Kojo?

In Manhattan, Eddie and Shay also bond. They visit the museum, but cannot find the stranger. Eddie revisits his old apartment building and the falafel stand where he used to hang out with his brother. These places trigger old memories and Eddie breaks down, overwhelmed by it all. He rushes home and confesses to Lacey. She becomes rather strict and orders him to never do such a thing again. Eddie leaves, though it’s unclear if he’s irritated by his limitations or if that’s just what he needs.

All of these smaller stories continue to intertwine. Gary’s parents ask Linda to move in and she freaks out and calls Dee Dee. The wealthy woman is throwing away Charles’ clothes and leafing through his photos. One of the photos seems to indicate that Charles may have been gay and was still having an affair. She invites Linda over and they discuss their own private woes. Dee Dee is happy that Linda escaped. She then talks about her perfect marriage, admitting it was all too good to be true. They think about Noelle’s letter and Linda realizes that they have been dating a place where you can wreck cars and smash everything. They decide to check for themselves.

Dear Edward Season 1 Episode 3 Ending Explained

The episode ends with the stranger (you know the one who gave Edward a shrunken head?) sending Edward a letter. Perhaps an allusion to the title of the show. Lacey’s partner John picks up the envelope and adds it to a hiding place he hides in the house. It seems a lot of people write to Edward or maybe it’s all from the same person. Eddie became quite famous because of the crash. These letters can offer help or ask for advice, either way, I think the couple are doing the right thing by hiding this from Eddie. I don’t think his mental well-being would handle fan mail very well right now.
