Cass was the son of comedy legend Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin Jr, aka Cass, was the eldest son of legendary actor and comedian Charlie Chaplin. He was born on May 5, 1925 in Los Angeles.

He followed in his father’s footsteps and pursued an acting career. Cass is known for his roles in The Beat Generation (1959), Fangs Of The Wild (1954) and Matinee Theater (1955).

His first marriage was to a nurse, Martha Brown. He married for the second time to Susan Magness and they welcomed their daughter Susan Maree in May 1959.

Cass died in Hollywood in March 1968. He was only 43 years old.

Radio Times reports that, according to Anthony Summers’ book, Goddess: The Secret Lives Of Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn was involved with Cass in real life.

Summers claims Cass introduced Monroe to her family in 1947, while Cass also referenced the actress in her own book, My Father, Charlie Chaplin. In the 1960 biography, Cass wrote about meeting Marilyn, then told her father about the encounter.

Charlie Chaplin said to her, “Oh, she’s a beauty. What a figure! I really admire your taste, son. Just be careful, son. Don’t fall in love yet. First you need to take care of this education.

The director addresses the accuracy of the film and the novel

As with some other segments of Blonde, viewers questioned the accuracy of its storylines.

In an interview with the British Film Institute, director Andrew Dominik discussed the accuracy of Oates’ novel, the main source for the film.

Dominik said: “The book is like a broken mirror – there are all these little shards and it spins around, returning to certain memories. It is the feeling of being inside someone’s anxious thought process.

“Joyce tries to figure out how he expresses a certain feminine experience, or a certain human experience.”
