The Netflix reality series Buy My House season 1 was released on the streaming service on September 2, 2022.
If you think of real estate shows, they’re usually pretty standard from the factory. Therefore, how many of them can feel the same. But this is not the case for buy my house. Instead of following weekly trips that end with a couple buying or not buying a property, this show has four experts deciding whether or not to invest or buy in a property. And by investing in property, they are also investing in owners.
Those experts are Corcoran Group CEO Pamela Liebman, Redfin CEO Glenn Kelman, property mogul Danisha Wrighster and NFL linebacker Brandon Copeland. Each of them has a lot of character, helping to set the show apart. Although, for this very reason, they can also be very annoying (at times), their chatter requiring a lot of work. And that brings me to the owners. God, some of them can be extremely infuriating. At the level where you hope the experts refuse the offers. But for the most part, the owners are pretty decent people who are understandably very passionate about the property they’re trying to sell or the experts are investing in.
These aren’t just your normal standard homes for sale either. There are many world-class luxury properties, like an Earthship, for experts to inspect. With the expert and the properties, there are several stories. And it’s not just from the owners; experts also have emotional and inspiring stories. While the host, Nina Parker, doesn’t have much to do, her personality fits well with the overall tone.
While the show is fabulous, what might be the show’s ultimate downfall is its timing. With more and more people sinning due to the rising cost of living, will audiences really be interested in seeing wealthy experts buying up lots of properties per episode?
