Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

After Jang Uk suppressed the Cheonbugwan mages, forcing Yeom-su to admit that Jin Mu created the blood parasite now inside Seo Yul, we watch as Gwanju frets as he learns what happened. Meanwhile, it becomes apparent that the genius mage is in critical condition, potentially signaling a war between Songrim and Cheonbugwan.

As established by Heo Yeom that the blood parasite cannot be removed from Seo Yul while he is alive (also, if the genius mage dies, it is said General SEO will travel to the capital to find out the cause of the “sudden death”), the queen rejects a request to dissuade Seo Il from starting any conflict. Somewhere else, Dang-gu pledges to support Jang Uk, who traveled to Cheonbugwan, on behalf of Songrim, as Jin Park decides that he will pay a personal visit.

As Jin Mu wishes to summon the unanimous Assembly to plead Cheonbugwan’s innocence, the crown prince tries to stop Jang Uk from his individual mission to kill the Gwanju. “I don’t want all your hard work to be in vain,” the royal says, wanting the monster hunter to avoid recklessly killing others just to get to Jin Mu. Eventually, the opponents are pretty much on board, thanks to the Crown Prince’s candor in admitting he realizes that Jang Uk’s “grief, hatred and rage” are directed at him, in addition to looks. by Park Jin. There is a request made by Uk, however, that Jin Mu be brought to him.

Despite his reluctance to accept responsibility for what happened to Seo Yul, Jin Mu has more pressing issues to deal with when the crown prince informs him that he will have to find a way to fight the blood parasite or risk death. confront Jang Uk. Simultaneously, Park Jin is sent back to Songrim to be at Seo Yul’s side, with Uk promising to find a way to save his friend.

Following the advice of the unanimous Assembly, which wishes to prevent war, Jin Mu begs Ho-gyeong for help. This tactic proves unsuccessful, but ominous words of a “shared disappearance”, as well as royal intervention, mean that the leader of Jinyowon eventually agrees to help the Gwanju. Following this, Jin Mu apologizes to Jang Uk for his “deep understanding”, and Ho-gyeong swallows his pride, reluctantly inviting the monster hunter to Jinyowon so the cure for Seo Yul’s ailments can be shared. Additionally, a promise is made that if Yul dies, so does the Gwanju.

As an apology Bu-yeon regains more memories upon touching Seo Yul, adding confusion to his regret for not telling others about his condition, Ho-gyeong tells Jang Uk and Park Jin that the firebird can be used to save the mage genius. However, in exchange for his help, the leader of Jinyowon wants his eldest daughter to return home.

Later, Heo Yeom assigns the roles for the “dangerous” task of using the firebird to rid Seo Yul of the blood parasite inside him. Dang-gu is to fetch Cho-yeon (they need the blood of someone from the Jin family), Park Jin will reassure General Seo about the situation, and Jang Uk will enter Jinyowon alongside the crown prince. Although the two enemies couldn’t fight each other while there, it would cause the world to “go down in flames”.

Unfortunately, Jang Uk chooses to ignore the words of Park Jin, who suggested he find a way to save both Seo Yul and Bu-yeon. As such, he subtly informs his partner that she will have to leave, visibly affected by his insistence on helping for the sake of Yul, his friend.

To account for any risk (neither Seo Yul nor the firebird can be moved from their respective locations, and the relic cannot have its barrier broken), Heo Yeom proposes a complex plan. First, a water wick connected to the genial mage’s lantern of life will be used to attract the blood parasite. Then, this will be placed in Cho-yeon’s mouth before she heads to Jinyowon to collect the Firebird’s energy. At the same time, Jang Uk will have to expand the relic’s barrier by recreating an energy worth 30,000 nyang gold, allowing them to enter inside. It’s a solid plan, but there is a change. Bu-yeon has to take Cho-yeon’s place because the latter has the potential to be pregnant.

With the rest of Seo Yul’s energy inside the water wick alongside the blood parasite, Bu-yeon walks to Jinyowon, unable to open her mouth or swallow. Here, the priestess ends up also realizing the true identity of the crown prince, who is also shocked at who she is. Elsewhere, Jin Mu hopes the royal isn’t lying when he says he’s saving Seo Yul to save him.

In time, the blood parasite releases Seo Yul’s energy torrent and is expelled from Bu-yeon’s body. Following this, the genie mage has his water wick returned, allowing him to regain his pulse. Afterwards, Bu-yeon leaves upset to go home, adamant she’s going back to Jinyowon of her own accord, but obviously disappointed in Jang Uk’s firm stance that she won’t miss her partner.

As Jin Mu shockingly reveals to the crown prince that Jang Uk is the late king’s son, asking the king’s permission to send the monster hunter “away”, Cho-yeon is tasked with preparing her sister’s room. Meanwhile, Jang Uk fails to convince himself that Bu-yeon belongs to him and finds himself worrying about Ho-Gyeong putting a tracking wire back inside her, in addition to pondering their unlikely relationship.

Awakened after three days of unconsciousness, a recovering Seo Yul is shocked to discover both that So-i is dead and that the blood parasite has been removed from him. Also, the genius mage finds himself intrigued by the fact that Master Lee has taken care of Bu-yeon for three years, so he states that he must know her well. Later, Seo Yul is more outspoken about things, causing him to “feign ignorance.” Continuing, Master Lee reveals that Naksu the soul will cease to exist once Bu-yeon wakes up properly.

As Lady Heo reads a letter containing information about Bu-yeon being Naksu, Jang Uk finds herself irritated by the flickering of the Jinyowon lantern left in her room. So he goes looking for her, obviously wanting to take the priestess back. Luckily, Bu-yeon ends up appearing in front of Jang Uk after his fruitless search is over, which means the monster hunter has a chance to explain that his goal for his wife was to get him to remove the ice stone.

The ending explained

Frustrated when Jang Uk states that he would have died again if the ice stone had been removed from his body, Bu-yeon offers a gratuitous apology in favor of exclaiming that she’d “better never” see him again. monster hunter. But the priestess instantly calms down when Uk details how he “longs” for her when the lantern relic is extinguished, and an emotional kiss between the two ends the episode.
