We recap the Netflix K-Drama series Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episode 10, which contains spoilers and explains the ending.

Complete with a surprisingly happy ending, as well as a very good overall conclusion to the proceedings, alchemy of souls season 2 wrapped up perfectly with episode 10. The second episode may have had mixed receptions, but the story was continuously entertaining and it really packed a punch when it mattered. Now that it’s over, it’s hard not to miss Daeho, and the massive ensemble that occupies it.

During their time spent pretending to be an “ordinary couple”, United Kingdom and Naksu to encounter Master Lee. The wise mage wishes to “end” the current relationship between the monster hunter and his partner, so he asks them to marry him as a witness. Following this we get the ceremony, where Naksu decides she wants to be called Cho Youngand the two, whose names mean ‘light and shadow’, officially wed, ‘telling heaven’ of their intention to continue their long-lasting bond.

As Jang Uk shares a touching moment with Cho Yeong at the top of the tree in Danhyanggok, centering on how he always recognized his true love “deep inside,” Ho-gyeong admits that she doesn’t arrest the couple because they both helped protect Jinyowon. Later, the idea of Jin Seol-ran reborn as Bu-yeon is enhanced, with Master Lee theorizing that the Priestess has remained by the Ice Stone’s side for 200 years thanks to the awareness that she will at some point be used in another form of “Great Chaos”.

When it is established that Naksu’s last “love letter” to Jang Uk will be her recollection of how she felt killing him, Master Lee hopes the couple’s love will extend to Seol- ran. Then, shockingly, the Monster Hunter is summoned by Bu-yeon’s soul, who shows him the “inevitable” burning of the world that will be caused by the Firebird. Ominously, Jang Uk is said to be the only man capable of stopping the chaos, but he will be aided by the real Bu-yeon, who used the shadow created by his light. At the same time, the relative weakness JinMu tells the unanimous Assembly that they don’t have free time for plans, so they must head to Jinyowon “immediately” to eliminate the Firebird.

Then the crown prince is greeted by the man he betrayed, Jin Mu, who he can’t quite believe he changed his soul with. Yun-o. Things then quickly get worse for the royal, as he soon discovers that the king is siding with the Gwanju and will be stripped of his golden plate, meaning he is no longer heir to the throne. . Following this, Jin Mu forces his way into Jinyowon threatening to drain Ho-gyeong’s energy if he were to be kept outside. Nevertheless, help may soon be on the way, as one lingers Kim maid asks that news of this confrontation be transmitted to Songrim.

As Jin Mu retrieves the Firebird’s Egg, pushing Jinyowon to the brink of collapse, a withered Ho-gyeong sends Cho-yeon walks away to ask for Songrim’s help and asks the servant Kim to help him maintain the presence of the relics kept inside the area. On time, Jin Park arrives, but the only help he can offer is sealing the Jinyowon Gate to prevent other relics from escaping. It’s a harrowing task for the former leader of Songrim, especially since it means servant Kim and Ho-gyeong are kept inside the Collapse Zone, where they must die.

Taken in by a smug Jin Mu, who claims he can give his opponent a chance to save his wife, Park Jin is led to the unanimous Assembly. Here, the former leader of Songrim is made aware of the group’s intention to share the power of the Ice Stone among the “mighty families of mages”, in addition to their lack of care that the firebird released will cause destruction. “All things require sacrifice,” Jin Mu states, before provoking Park Jin to prove his virtue (Park does this by rejecting the possibility of saving the servant Kim, knowing it’s ethically wrong).

Enraged by the allegations of hypocrisy, Park Jin begins to fight the unanimous Assembly, hoping to stop them from breaking the Firebird’s Barrier. However, the mage is delayed by Jin Mu, who ruthlessly stabs the former Songrim leader, forcing him to the ground.

After Jang Uk arrives amid his friends’ mourning for those lost, he is made aware of what has happened and learns the sad fact that all three coffins are empty as no bodies have been found. could be recovered. The Monster Hunter already knows, so he tells his allies that the Firebird is being held by Jin Mu and co. will wake up “no matter what” before sharing that the three alleged dead did not die. Then, a cut confirms that Master Lee is taking care of Park Jin, servant Kim, and Ho-gyeong, all of whom were somehow saved by Bu-yeon (Naksu has now left the body of the priestess).

As Jang Uk reflects on his final moments with Naksu, where they came to terms with denying the fate of loving each other, Jin Mu prepares to perform the Rite of the Lake. The king is excited, believing this will give him the chance to “let go” of his ailing body, but for now, His Majesty is tasked with protecting Cheonbugwan from any obstacles.

Gifting the crown prince with his golden plaque, giving up his plans to one day become a royal (or the most powerful person in the world), Jang Uk asks his unlikely ally to stop the king from mobilizing the army. Meanwhile, Jin Mu seems excited at the risk of breaking the Firebird’s barrier, even though it might cause Daeho to burn.

With determination, Jang Uk decides that he will go to Cheonbugwan to awaken the firebird himself, just to that he can get rid of it to “change the outcome” of the chaos. Elsewhere, the crown prince appears before the king with his new golden plaque, informing him that there will be no guards to defend Cheonbugwan and pleading that his father now vacate the throne.

During a battle, Cho-yeon proceeds to destroy Jin Mu’s earthenware, and the Gwanju kills a unanimous Assemblyman, unhappy with the haste of the Firebird’s awakening. Still, the leader of Cheonbugwan cannot avoid conflict, as Jang Uk soon arrives to hasten the revival of the relic. As such, Jin Mu and co. are trapped in a barrier of flames, left to die as punishment for their greed. Still, the sly Gwanju may have managed to survive.

With everything now safe, Bu-yeon prepares to awaken the Firebird so it can be sent to the King’s Star, before Jang Uk gets rid of the relic from Lake Gyeongcheondaeho. The process is not too smooth and destruction is caused, but eventually the monster hunter manages to reach his goal with the help of an arrow. As such, the Firebird vanishes to everyone’s relief before Bu-yeon collapses, once again replacing his soul with Naksu’s.

End of Alchemy of Souls Season 2

A year later, Park Jin and servant Kim take care of the children (dan and gang) of Dang-gu and Lady Jin, the latter being disappointed, they are constantly left to guard. Although they too seem ready to have their own children, so maybe it’s a good practice. Elsewhere, Ho-gyeong warmly greets Dang-gu and Cho-yeon, and it is revealed that Jang Uk and Bu-yeon are the ones planning to have daughters to continue the Jin family line. Additionally, Seo Yul would be in charge of Jeongjingak, where he recruits new mages based on their energy and potential.

As the new king wishes to marry to avoid creating more rumors that his libido has been cut off, Jang Uk and Bu-yeon continue to capture the 31 escaped Jinyowon relics (they currently have 12). Here, the royal shares that he has something he wants to offer the monster hunter when he returns: to become the Gwanju of Cheonbugwan. Following this, it’s confirmed that Ho-gyeong no longer feels “agony” upon seeing his daughter, as well as the fact that the “light and shadow” married couple of Jang Uk and Bu-yeon regularly appear atop the grand.
