Alchemy of Souls season 1, episode 5 recap

It turns out that the man residing at the house is Professor Lee, the magician who is currently harnessing Sapsali’s spirit inside a dog, which annoys Mu-deok, as she fears the dog will confronts her. That is until a confident Jang Uk steps in, ready to flirt too, with him humorously confessing that if the animal had wagged its tail, he would have thought the decor and hospitality were part of a plan to have him live with her, not necessarily train. Meanwhile, an assembly of mages gathers to agree on the duel that is to take place between the crown prince and Jang Uk. Here it is established that such a fight will only serve to settle any possible misunderstandings, with Park Jin explaining that it has nothing to do with Gwanju’s position, while the other mages talk about the contestant fleeing the area.

Infuriated, one of the mages suggests that Jang Uk’s rights as a mage be disqualified to prevent the duel, but such a request is outright denied, and Park Jin tackles the burden of holding Songrim responsible for the clash in order to that no one else can suffer. However, it is further established that the mages believe that no matter where the young master goes, he will never be someone’s pupil. Of course, that’s wrong, and the next scene shows Jang Uk’s domestic life with Mu-deok, with the former’s care emphasized as he presses his master to the bed instead of himself.

Returning home to inspect the soul-shifter inside, Master Lee prepares to kill Mu-deok, believing it is better for her to die at his hands than run in fear. However, he finds himself intrigued by Naksu’s unique energy loss and overall good health instead, until Jang Uk delays his vocal musings. A small-scale conflict then ensues, but it is obvious that the experienced magician has more than a slight advantage over the novice magician. Even more curious now, this time on the two residents of the house, Master Lee dismisses Jang Uk.

The next day we find out there was more to this confrontation, as the two men involved remember Naksu watching, while she only remembers waking up after having a vision of the woman she knocked down. blade. Calling her a “special” soul-transformer and confiding to his companion that there is a “great soul” inside her body, the magician wishes to know Mu-deok first, instead of pursuing any other stock. Elsewhere, Dang-gu and Seo Yul chat a bit about what their two friends are up to, with the latter finding himself rather concerned that they’re in the dangerous Danhyanggok.

Seeing that Master Lee has subdued even Chisu, Jang Uk and Mu-deok are fascinated by the man residing in the same place as them. That’s until he comes with a warning for the young master that he’s been drinking tea full of chaste herbs, which means there’s a low libido in store for him. man who is just beginning to learn the ropes. Shocked, Jang Uk cannot greet the “hemp master” Mu-deok is in love with and wishes the tonic would help with his sexual desires. That being said, it’s Naksu who has a more important matter to discuss, as she wants the magician to help her control the energy of her student’s unreliable right arm.

Unwilling to accept the trade-off that he must continue to drink chaste herbal tea in exchange for energy control teachings, Jang Uk finds himself in a wavering mood, only moderate when the energy is flowing enough to cut off his master’s forehead. Naksu isn’t agitated, however, knowing that this means her student becomes stronger, which in turn will cause her own powers to return. Meanwhile, Park Jin recalls being told that no one could find out the King’s Star, or the secret of Jang Uk’s birth, only to be interrupted by a curious Jin Mu, who wished to lean himself- even on the constellation. Instead, he is thwarted by creating his own family line, and the investigation he must cooperate in involves the Soul Change Constellation Recorder in Cheonbugwan.

While the investigation turns up nothing suspicious, a troubled Jin Mu heads to the secret room to deal with the corpse whose energy Eunuch Kim has absorbed. Predictably, when Park Jin arrives to inspect it, there is nothing suspicious, as the assassins are already one step ahead. Or so it seems, as the Songrim leader had previously instructed Dang-gu and Seo Yul to watch and follow Jin Mu’s men, knowing that they would attempt to remove whatever was hiding in the secret room. . A battle ensues, intense in that it seems almost fruitless for the young couple, but surprisingly allows them to retrieve the lost spirit plate as the corpse floats in the water beside them.

Back in the secret room, an irritated Jin Mu sends the eunuch Kim to deliver a chest, waiting for him to be gone to admit that he will soon have to be “thrown away” and that another eunuch should be found, this time to to shelter the soul of the assistant’s subordinate Gwanju. In this scene, we also find out that such a menacing soul-switching happens as part of Jin Mu’s service to the queen, whom he obviously wants to impress.

As Park Jin tasks Dang-gu and Seo Yul with finding Jang Uk to interrogate him about the spirit plate he lost, the crown prince watches as his mother receives her usual gift from Jin Mu, while Jang Uk settles in. into a more domestic lifestyle with Master Lee. much to the dismay of Mu-deok, who thinks this goes against the two’s agreement. The young master eventually grows irritated as well, wishing his teacher would leave if she is to disturb the peace he has begun to enjoy instead of worrying about the impending duel he must return for.

Next, Sapsali stumbles over the floating corpse, before we cut to Ho-kyung offering marriage to Cho-yeon as a potential way out of the duel for Jang Uk. It would work thanks to the plate they possess which allows them to defy royal orders, but servant Kim still seems troubled by the suddenness of such a request. Meanwhile, Master Lee wants Jang Uk to become his student, with a humorous anecdote about his former student breaking celibacy, Heo Yeom, thrown in for good measure. The experienced magician realizes that the young master is holding back in his current role, a point raised with the shock offer to cut off his energy flow so he can live a normal life. Concurrently, Naksu returned to her former employers so that a rumor could spread about her student’s mastery of Ryusu, ignoring the idea that it might backfire on the in-demand trainee.

Narrowly avoiding questioning by Cheonbugwan officials due to the crown prince’s surprise appearance, Mu-deok instead finds himself moaning about Jang Uk with the royal, with the arrogant man happy to play seemingly harmless pranks involving his dislike. for the cinnamon in return. Elsewhere, Jang Uk and Master Lee make their way to the corpse affected by a Soul Shifter, and we discover that the only way one of these monsters won’t go on a rampage is to overpower Hwansu, which few can. TO DO. Oh, and the seasoned magician tries again to make the man he loves so much his student.

As Master Lee steals the cart containing the corpse via his rainbow distraction, Dang-gu and Seo Yul arrive at Danhyanggok, and Jang Uk picks up the drunk Mu-deok, who has been busy petting the crown prince. As they return to where their friends are waiting for them, Seo Yul once again recalls her days alongside Naksu and how she wanted to try and summon her bird from a rock he once thought to be high. In the present, he can hug the woman he once loved as she falls from the same height he was afraid of, as Dang-gu springs into action.

At home, Mu-deok begins to realize how much her shared past with Seo Yul is remembered, but any sentimentality is rarely appreciated as Dang-gu begins to drink the chaste herbal tea. And, even though Jang Uk lies about it being good for his friends, his drunken master is able to intervene about the drink’s true medicinal nature. At the same time, Master Lee leaves the place he currently occupies with his dog and the cart.

The end

After a discussion of Jang Uk’s spirit plate which sees the young master pleading ignorance of when and where it was lost, Heo Yeom gushes about the idea that a wedding could soon be on the way. ‘horizon. Still, Park Jin and servant Kim aren’t so keen on the rookie mage being bonded, believing such a thing should only happen when there’s true love. Any stalemate is unable to find a solution anyway, as the trio soon receives information that Master Lee has broken through the barrier and wishes to speak with his former student. Next, with a heart-to-heart between Jang Uk and Mu-deok involving climbing trees together, and whether or not the woman formerly known as Naksu should be rescued if captured by one of Danju, the episode ends.
