The comedy series Acapulco is set in 1984 when Maximo Gallardo’s dream comes true. He gets his life’s work at Acapulco’s hottest resort, Las Colinas; however, he soon realizes that working there will be far more complicated than he ever imagined. It was broadcast on Apple TV Plus and was well received by many. It has the elements of a laid-back coming-of-age genre and the fantasy that accompanies other romantic comedies. It’s always friendly and very charming, thanks to Eugenio Derbez. It will grow on you over the episodes.

The series goes from flashbacks to the present day over the two seasons. The series explores love and loss while trying to work through the daily tasks of life. Romance is evident in both seasons due to Maximo’s charm. It’s a series that takes the viewer into the world created by director Richard Shepard, and that’s the most important aspect of Acapulco. All good shows lose you in the dynamics of the characters and what they want to achieve. Worlds are created and viewers can just sit with them, feeling like they’re part of the cast.

There are some funny moments in this series because of how Nathan and Reagan tackle these issues.

The White Lotus (2021)

A star cast travels to a resort town and unleashes its most privileged worst impulses. white lotus is a sharp social satire that follows the exploits of various guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort. Similar to Alcapulco, the White Lotus station is completely fictional, but the creators are able to make it look so incredibly authentic. What happens at the station is fun and intriguing, which is what makes the series so good.

Try (2020)

All Nikki and Jason want is a baby — the one thing they can’t have — so they decide to adopt. with their dysfunctional friends, twisted families, and chaotic lives, the adoption committee may not agree that they are ready to be parents. Life can get a little crazy, and it doesn’t come with a manual. It can be hard to navigate and that’s what this series explores so well. Because no one knows what he’s doing, and that’s fine. Four women – a chef, a single mother, an heiress and a job seeker – explore love, career and midlife crises in pre-pandemic Los Angeles. About shows the ups and downs of four women struggling to succeed in life. It’s a natural way to look at these characters and everything that happens to them.

Somehow (2021)

Fluid millennial Sabi Mehboob straddles various identities, from the sexy bartender of an LGBTQ bar, to the youngest child of a large Pakistani family, to the de facto parent of an inner-city hipster family. Kind of is a progressive Canadian series that has incredible humor sprinkled throughout the episodes. It feels so effortless, which makes it incredibly charming to look at. Similar to Acapulco it shows a way of living in the most frank way.

Our Flag Means Death (2022)

Stede Bonnet, a pampered aristocrat, abandoned his life of privilege to become a pirate at the beginning of the 18th century. Our flag means death is one of the best projects to start streaming on HBO Max and has a wonderful cast. The concept is a bit murky but it works because of how funny everyone is.

Schitt’s Stream (2015)

In Schitt’s Creeka couple rich – Johnny, the video library magnate, and his wife Moira, star of the soap opera, suddenly find themselves completely broke. With only one asset remaining, a small town called Schitt’s Creek, which the Roses bought years earlier as a joke. The once wealthy couple must abandon life as they know it and move in with their two spoiled children. just like Acapulco these characters go through big changes over the episodes and become different people after all they’ve learned.

Pen15 (2019)

This comedy series depicts college as it really happened. Comics Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle play versions of themselves as teenage outcasts in the year 2000. A time when the best day of your life can turn into the worst with the stroke of a gel pen . Humor is a big part of Pen15but it is also the authenticity of exploring the college version of these young girls.
