Why was Cal arrested?
Cal Jacobs has had a troubled relationship with his son Nate Jacobs for various reasons since the boy found out about Cal’s affairs through a series of videodiscs. However, Nate is also treated harshly by his father, which strains the relationship between the two. In season two, Cal has a nervous breakdown and accuses his family of being hypocrites. In the season 2 finale, after embarrassing himself at Lexi’s performance, Nate and his father have an argument. Cal is at the root of Nate’s psychological issues and conflicting sexual identity. Therefore, such a conversation between father and son was inevitable. During their conversation, Cal states that he is happier with his new life than before, but apologizes to Nate for his mistakes. But Nate wants revenge and pulls out a gun. Instead of killing Cal, Nate hands him over to the police with evidence of Cal’s sexual assault. Cal is said to have had sex with minors on numerous occasions. Clearly, Cal has been arrested for his sexual encounters with a minor and may face grooming charges.
Will Eric Dane be in Season 3?
Actor Eric Dane plays the role of Cal Jacobs in ‘Euphoria.’ Cal’s recent arrest has raised a question mark over the Grey’s Anatomy actor’s future on the show. Although Dane is an integral part of the series, he only appears in five of the eight episodes of Season 2. Additionally, Cal is one of the few adult characters in the teen drama to get a lot of screen time. Therefore, it can be said that Cal is irrelevant to the overall plot of the series.
However, Season 2 also explores Cal’s past and expands on his story. The confrontation between Cal and Nate in the season 2 finale opens up a possible redemption story for both characters. So it would be surprising if Dane dropped out of the series at this point. Euphoria has been renewed for a third season, and while Dane’s involvement is not guaranteed, it’s likely he will reprise the role of Cal.
