Record of Ragnarok Season 1 plot: what could it be?

If the ONA follows the beginning of the manga series, it could describe that the gods of the different pantheons meet once every 1000 years to vote on the fate of humanity. This has been going on for 7 million years. However, dissatisfied with the behavior of humans, the gods could unanimously decide to completely exterminate them from the world. It is then that probably the oldest of the 13 Valkyries, Brunhilde, will take the floor to propose an alternative. She could suggest that the gods are testing humanity’s will, strength, and courage by facing her in the battles of Ragnarok.

These deadly fights could take place in the Valhalla arena, which will likely change shape as the tournament progresses. To level the playing field between gods and humans, Brunhilde was able to convince her sisters to bond their souls to human fighters. This process, known as Volund, transforms Valkyries into divine weapons. The first match will likely pit Thor, the Norse god of thunder, against Lu Bu, the legendary Chinese general active at the end of the Eastern Han dynasty. The Valkyrie Randgriz could transform into the Volund of Lu Bu and transform into a Chinese halberd so that the Human Champion could nullify Thor’s Mjolnir power.

The second match will likely pit Zeus, the king of the pantheon of ancient Greece, against the biblical Adam. The Valkyrie Reginleif could serve as Adam’s Volund, transforming into a dagger. The third match could pit Kojirou Sasaki, the famous Japanese swordsman from the Azuchi-Momoyama era and the beginning of the Edo era, against Poseidon from the Greek pantheon. In Game 4, Heracles of the Greek pantheon will likely represent the gods against Jack the Ripper, the infamous serial killer of Victorian London. Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, could face the legendary Sumo wrestler Raiden Tameemon in the fifth game.
