Warrior Nun season 2 release date

Developed by Simon Barry for Netflix, “Warrior Nun” is a fast-paced supernatural fantasy teen drama series featuring crisp fight sequences, impeccable production and costume design, and a grand premise that includes both mythical and religious elements. Based on Ben Dunn’s Warrior Nun Areala comic book character, the story introduces us to Ava Silva, an orphan with quadriplegia, who wakes up in a morgue, resurrected by an intimidating nun. When he comes back to life, Ava realizes that she can walk again.

However, Ava’s new life comes at a price: she becomes a member of a secret order of nuns whose mission is to fight demons. The show received rave reviews upon its premiere, and critics were particularly enthusiastic about Alba Baptista’s commendable performance in the central role. However, after the impressive finale of the first season, one has to wonder about the prospects for the next season. Then you can count on us.

Warrior Nun Season 2 Release Date

Season 1 of ‘Warrior Nun’ premiered in its entirety on July 2, 2020 on Netflix. The first season consists of ten episodes, the episodic duration of which varies between 37 and 50 minutes. Now let’s dive into the production details of the long-awaited second season.

The first season of the fantasy series was very well received by fans and critics alike. As a result, the popular streaming platform has renewed the series for a second season, just over a month after its premiere. Production for the next season began on August 19, 2020. Due to the catastrophic situation of the pandemic and many unexpected delays, production naturally took a major hit.

However, the team returned to filming in Spain in May 2021. Supervising producer David Hayter took to Twitter to share the news with fans of the series. The tweet read: “I am currently in Spain for the next six months, producing the second season of Warrior Nun for @netflix.” But the pre-production tasks took a bit longer, as the cast and crew had to remain in quarantine for a time after arriving in Spain. According to an Instagram post from the show’s co-actor Tristán Ulloa, filming finally began in the first week of July 2021.

If production goes according to schedule, filming will take around six months and the finishing touches will take a little longer. There was a gap of almost a year between the end of production and the final premiere of the first season. Therefore, we anticipate that season 2 of “Warrior Nun” will air in late 2022.

Warrior Nun Season 2: who can participate?

Apparently, the entire main cast will be returning for the second season. Among the demon hunter sisters, we hope to see Alba Baptista (Ava Silva), Toya Turner (Shotgun Mary), Kristina Tonteri-Young (Sister Beatrice), Lorena Andrea (Sister Lilith), and Olivia Delcan (Sister Camila). Among other important roles, Thekla Reuten will reprise her role as Jillian Salvius, while Tristan Ulloa will once again adopt the habit of Father Vincent. Sylvia De Fanti will also return as Mother Superion.

William Miller’s character Adriel will play an even bigger role in the development of the second season saga after the final reveal of the first. The show’s world of mythology keeps falling apart, and don’t be surprised if you see some new faces in the upcoming season.

Warrior Nun Season 2: What Can It Be?

After the tedious journey that takes up much of the first season, Ava and Vincent finally enter Vatican City to find Adriel’s bones, seemingly angelic. In the final two episodes of the season, the story takes an interesting turn to say the least. Mother Superion guides Ava and the others on their journey. Lilith visits Michael, who cryptically says that Ava has reached the gates. Ava and Beatrice do find the door to the vault, and the sight of a skeleton divinium of the evil creature Tarask surprises them.

Soon after, they find Adriel, who has lived in the catacombs for God knows how many years. In the last episode, Ava fights against the forces of good and evil and ends up revealing the truth: Adriel has stolen the halo of hell. Ava and Beatrice narrowly escape, and Father Vincent turns out to be loyal to Adriel. In the final moments, Adriel summons a horde of demons and the good nuns find themselves in a dire situation. On the other hand, Michael enters a mysterious portal created from the energy of combat, and we still do not know where he is going.

The second season will apparently pick up the story where the first left off. Following the shocking finale of the first season, fans are eager to see the second chapter of Ava’s journey to a world full of alluring villains and visceral monsters. Most of the first season is dedicated to establishing the backbone of the story. Now that viewers are familiar with the mythical world, the creators can make the story more energetic and action-packed. After the season 1 finale exposition, Adriel is revealed to be a primary antagonist force. In all likelihood, it will play a decisive role in the unfolding of the next series of events.

On the other hand, after the heated confrontation between Duretti and Mother Superion, the relationship between the old Order of the Cruciform Sword and the new papacy took a hostile turn. Also, some questions remain unanswered at the end of the season, and hopefully the second season will appease fans’ curiosity. And the central question remains where is Michael. Adriel is holding him captive? This obvious question and a few more will likely be addressed in season two. In short, there will be more stays and witchcraft!
