JYP Entertainment announced that due to the threat of COVID-19, TWICE would be canceling all promotions during their US tour. And how did the fans react to that?
Fortunately, the fans have a lot of understanding of the situation. In fact, many of them are concerned about the security of TWICE amid the ongoing threat of COVID-19.
In a thread on Twitter, they’re still thankful that the girls will continue their concert, even if there won’t be a meet-and-greet. JYP Entertainment made an official announcement about the cancellation of the promotions on Tuesday, February 15th.
This includes a variety of meet-and-greet opportunities the group had planned during their US tour, according to All Kpop. The label expressed gratitude for the warm welcome upon the arrival of Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu in the international country.
The company knew it was the chance for waiting fans to meet the hitmakers behind hit The Feels, but the severity of the virus situation had changed their plans. Therefore, they had no choice but to cancel all promotions and make the artists’ health their top priority.
However, they promised to continue the tour in the safest possible way. Both Twice and JYP were saddened and sorry about the news, but they had to make the decision in order to successfully complete the tour schedule.
They therefore asked for everyone’s understanding so that they can enjoy the concert safely. With that in mind, the group of nine is now looking forward to performing for their fans. They also ask her to take care and stay healthy.
Elsewhere, Twice was seen at Incheon International Airport on Sunday, February 13, where they were preparing to fly to Los Angeles to begin the North American leg of their fourth World Tour III. The tour will kick off at the Forum in Los Angeles on February 15th and 16th and then travel to Oakland, Forth Worth, Atlanta and Belmont Park.
Following their US tour, Twice will begin their Japan tour in April with two shows at the Tokyo Dome. So fans started celebrating by trending the hashtag #HaveASafeFlightTWICE and wishing the girls a safe journey.
With many anticipating the success of the TWICE concert, it could mean a double celebration for the group as their album Formula of Love: O+T entered the top 15 of the World Albums Chart in its 12th week, Soompi reports. The group joins the ranks of other K-pop groups BTS, BLACKPINK, NCT, TXT, ENHYPEN and ITZY.
