Developed from a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ooima (“A Silent Voice”), “To Your Eternity” or “Fumetsu no Anata e” is a fantastic animated series. It tells the story of a nameless and emotionless immortal entity sent to Earth by a higher being to observe the planet and its inhabitants. Over time, he takes on new appearances and ends up transforming into a boy named Fushi. To Your Eternity, Episode 2, titled “A Rambunctious Girl,” will air April 19, 2021 on NHK Educational TV. Originally, the anime was supposed to be released in October 2020, but it was postponed until April 2021 due to the COVID situation. Season 1 will have 20 episodes. Base du Studio Brain hosted the series, with Masahiko Murata leading the production team and Shinzou Fujita leading the writing team. Ryou Kawasaki composed the music and Koji Yabuno drew the characters. Hikaru Utada performed the opening song “PINK BLOOD”, while Masashi Hamauzu performed the closing song, “Mediator”.

Viewers outside of Asia can watch the series with original Japanese sound and English subtitles on Crunchyroll and VRV on the day it airs in Japan. To Your Eternity Episode 2 Spoilers

In Episode 1, an as yet unidentified narrator sends a white orb to planet Earth and explains his reasons for doing so, as well as its characteristics. The first thing the orb hits is a rock in the Arctic, so it becomes a rock. Time passes, the weather heats up and takes on the appearance of a foam. Watch the death of a wolf Reshy and transform into an identical copy of the wolf, down to the wound that killed him. The wound heals in 20 seconds and, almost instinctively, he heads to a ghost town and the home of its only inhabitant, a young man with white hair and green eyes. It turns out that the wolf, whose name was Joan, was the boy’s companion.

The other inhabitants left the village a long time ago. At night, the anonymous boy paints the faces of the other villagers to remember them. Try to follow in their footsteps and find “paradise”, a land where food is said to be abundant. He leaves with “Joan”. During his journey, he is injured when the ice breaks under him. Later, he finds a broken car and several tombstones. Realizing that his trip was in vain, the boy breaks down in tears. He returns home to “Joan” and finally succumbs to her injuries. After his death, the entity transforms into a child and leaves the house with the intention of discovering the world. Meanwhile, the boy finds the real Joan and the villagers in the afterlife.

In Episode 2, the entity was able to reach the land of Ninannah and meet a girl named March, who was sent into the forest as a sacrifice to the Spirit Bear. The two could come together through their shared determination to survive. March might realize that the entity doesn’t even understand the notion of humanity. She could give it a name.
