The Promised Neverland Season 3: Renewal Status, Release Date

May 4, 2021

There are often cases where animated reproductions of a manga do a grave injustice to its story. “The Promised Never Land” belongs to that category. Season 2 had a hasty and rather tacky ending that barely justified the manga’s hideous qualities. It’s been a little over a month since The Promised Neverland season 2 ended. Fans have started speculating about the third season. Somehow they want “The Promised Neverland” season 3 to undo the failures of the previous season and live up to its original glory. But will she do it? Here’s our take on the infamous Season 2 and its ensuing reboot.

What happened to season 2 of “The Promised Neverland”?

Talking about this topic is the idiomatic equivalent of whipping a dead horse. Either way, some of the failures of Season 2 of The Promised Neverland will end up being the redeeming qualities of Season 3.

The Promised Neverland season 2 episode 1 aired on January 8, 2021. Season 2 has 11 episodes and a special episode before ending on March 26, 2021. Anime fans who have been waiting since Season 2 announcement bombed the directors. with many criticisms.

The wording was gruesome, and often several key factors in the story were completely removed. Strangely, several character development opportunities were lacking. Not to mention a disappointing ending that packed all of the series’ flaws into one neat little box.

Condensing 144 chapters of content into 11 episodes is one end of the spectrum. The other extreme is when 2 chapters are spread over 10 episodes (I’m looking at you DBZ and Naruto). Those who have read the manga found the narrative to be messy at various points. As for those who have not read it, they have been misled. In disappointment, fans gave 6.2 on MyAnimeList in season 2.

Another important element that has been overlooked is Norman’s battle and his final victory over the demons. In addition to losing entire parts of the story, changes have been made where the anime does not follow the manga. Isabelle’s sacrifice is replaced by a much more “crowd-friendly” ending. Furthermore, Emma’s crucial sacrifice of giving away her memories has been stabbed in the back with a much more ambiguous ending in which she is left behind to supposedly “help other children escape.”

Will there be a premiere date for season 3 of The Promised Neverland?

Cloverworks has not officially confirmed the existence of a season 3. Anime fans are keeping their fingers crossed for news of the renewal. In practice, the probability of a season 3 in the future is low. The reason is that the entire plot, spread over 144 chapters (15 volumes) of the manga, has been condensed into 11 episodes of season 2.

The directors have not confirmed that season 2 is the final season. But we can’t rule out hearing about a derivative arc or even a reboot in the future.

Hypothetically, if season 3 is announced, it should air in the spring or summer of 2022. This date was calculated from the premiere dates of seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 of The Promised Neverland was revealed in May 2018 and aired 7 months later in January 2019. Season 2 was announced in March 2019 and aired in January 2021. The delay is due to a forced lockdown due to the pandemic that moved the scheduled premiere in October 2020 to January 2021.

Spoilers for The Promised Neverland Season 3

As it stands, fans of season 1 of the series should read the manga. Not only are the plot and character development better, but the ending is pretty good too.

When it comes to season 3 rehab, we may very well expect a complete reinvention of the manga in anime. Maybe we would get a Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood treatment or some in-depth work. There are no specific details on the Season 3 premiere, but we can expect it to be released later this year or perhaps in the spring of 2022.

The animated series is produced by animation studio cloverworks, known for producing the popular film Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. Although the creator of the original manga, Kaiu Shirai, was the head of the Season 3 project, it is worth remembering that it was also under his leadership that Season 2 lost quality.

The OP and ED have yet to be published, but their names, “Identidad” and “Maho”, respectively, have been assigned.

Season 3 can get rid of a lot of the literary gimmicks that hampered the previous series. The timely arrival of the good guys, the sudden influx of new information, the tendency for a complicated situation to suddenly get resolved is pretty boring. Hopefully CloverWorks and the principal realize these errors soon enough.

How to watch season 1 of The Promised Neverland?

Season 1 was a brilliant premise that laid a wonderful foundation for the anime. She had laid out the horror elements with a substantial amount of cliffhangers to pique the interest of the audience. It is a pity that it cannot continue to be exploited.
