The third season of The Mandalorian will premiere in March 2023

The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, as announced at Brazil Comic Con. That’s a slight step backwards from the February 2023 Star Wars Celebration estimate.

There’s now a trailer for Season 3 of The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian Season 3 teaser is here after it premiered behind closed doors at the Star Wars Celebration. Mando and Baby Yoda are reunited in the film, and the two exchange some adorable words; this is also the first live-action look at Mandalore.

The Armorer is furious with Din Djarin for taking off his helmet, and Bo-Katan has a few strong words for him. Also, Babu Frik (or at least a creature with similar traits) makes an appearance. A second, even shorter clip was shown at the Star Wars Celebration.

Even more footage was seen behind closed doors at Brazil Comic-Con. Collider(opens in new tab) reports that a longer version of the trailer was shown showing Grogu using the Force to free someone from a cave.

Also Andor, the city planet from the prequels, as well as ape lizards and cooperative Mandalorians are said to have appeared in the clip. And Bo-Katan tells Mando that his future is dishonorable because he chose to miss the Mandalorian conflict.

A new trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 was released in January 2023, revealing even more details about what to expect. Order 66 and Salacious B. Crumb were just two of the many Easter eggs hidden in the latest reboot. In the trailer, it is made clear that Din Djarin will travel to Mandalore in search of forgiveness.

Characters returning in The Mandalorian season 3

The Mandalorian season 3 cast isn’t frozen in carbonite. Both Grogu and Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin will be back.

Actor Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon, told EW(opens in new tab) that his character will have a bigger role in the third film. I have a feeling that you will get to know me better in the next season. You can expect to run into Moff Gideon quite often. This is an incredible premonition.

Carl Weathers revealed at Steel City Con that he will be reprising his role as Greef Karga and directing the sequel. Season 2 of The Mandalorian is complete, and now that the Dark Saber is in Din’s possession, we can expect Katee Sackhoff to return as Bo-Katan. Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka may return, although her fate is unclear following her cameo appearance in The Book of Boba Fett and she also has a spin-off in the works.

Christopher Lloyd, best known for his role in Back to the Future, has also reportedly joined the cast.

Mercedes Varnado, aka Sasha Banks, has announced that she will not reprise her role as Koska Reeves in the upcoming third season.

Cara Dune, played by Gina Carano, is another character who won’t make an appearance. Everyone assumed that she would play an important role in the spin-off Rangers of the New Republic. However, as a result of Carano’s posts on social media, Lucasfilm has severed all ties with her. That means we won’t be seeing them in the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian, and that the Rangers of the New Republic spin-off has reportedly been scrapped as a result.

What about Bill Burr’s character, Migs Mayfield? In an interview with Screen Rant (opens in new tab), the actor spoke about Season 3 and shared his thoughts on the matter: Yes please! Thanks to Jon Favreau and Rick Famuyiwa, the writers of the two episodes I worked on, I was able to contribute to a project of epic proportions and high artistic quality that touched the lives of many. Of course, there’s not much I can say other than that I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the show, hope it gets extended, and even if not, I still had a great experience.

Bryce Dallas Howard’s return as director means she’ll be in charge of one episode. She directed two episodes of The Mandalorian and the acclaimed Return of the Mandalorian chapter in The Book of Boba Fett.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian will see the debut of Babu Frik, the hairy little monster from The Rise of Skywalker.
