The Ellen DeGeneres Show finale: who would be the last guest on the show?

March 17, 2022

Ellen DeGeneres is saying goodbye to her eponymous talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, after nearly 20 years. The presenter has officially announced the latest show and it will be full of surprises.

Last year, Ellen DeGeneres announced her decision to quit The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Although the show was hit by a major controversy after allegations of toxic on-set behavior surfaced in 2020, the comedian clarified that the show’s ending has nothing to do with the issue.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, the 64-year-old star said she wouldn’t have a comeback for season 18 if that was the reason the show ended. She revealed that her ultimate goal was to find something new that would challenge her.

As great as this show is and as much fun as it is, it just isn’t a challenge anymore, she explained. A source told Us Weekly that she wanted to make sure the show ended with a bang.

The final season would be a celebration of the show’s 18th anniversary, so definitely a big hooray. The Louisiana-born actress has given her staff advance notice of the show’s end to make it the best year possible.

So fans will see longtime friends from The Ellen DeGeneres Show like Jennifer Aniston, Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian and Tiffany Haddish in the final season. Also starring are Melissa McCarthy, Julianne Moore, Melissa Etheridge and Sean Diddy Combs.

Additionally, Deadline revealed that former US First Lady Michelle Obama, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Serena Williams, Zac Efron and Adam Levine will also be cast before Season 19 officially wraps up. Behati Prinsloo, Gwen Stefani, David Letterman, Diane Keaton and Portia de Rossi are also said to be there.

Due to Season 18 being viewerless due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the finale will only have a small number of viewers to catch the show live. In a press release, it was announced that Ellen DeGeneres will celebrate and thank her fans for their support and love during the 19 years that the show has aired.

The final season will therefore be full of surprises and much bigger than ever. There will also be a journey into the past and some detours.

I promise we’re going to have an amazing final season, Ellen DeGeneres promised loudly Entertainment Weekly. She also tweeted that The Ellen DeGeneres Show finale airs May 26 and that she will miss it.
