Song Joong-Ki will lead the Mnet Music Awards presenter line-up in 2021 and other important details

December 7, 2021

The Mnet Music Awards (MAMA) 2021 are currently preparing for their big event on Saturday, December 11th. As part of the preparations, the prestigious awards ceremony on Tuesday, December 7th, announced the official line-up of presenters, led by Song Joong-ki.

Gabee, Kwon Yool, Kim Seo-hyung, Kim Young-dae, Kim Hye-yoon, Nam Yoon-su, Noh Hong-chul, Monika and Rain will moderate MAMA 2021 alongside Song Joon-ki. Also are Ahn Bo-hyun, Uhm Jung-hwa, Yeo Jin-goo, Lee Do-hyun, Lee Sun-bin, Jo Bo-ah, Jo Jung-suk, Sooyoung, Choi Siwon, Tiffany, HaHa, Han Ye-ri and Hero Sung-tae there.

This year’s presenters are a colorful mix of musicians, actors, dancers and comedians. These artists will present the prizes to all winners at the ceremony, soompi reports.

Of course there will also be a line-up of artists who will perform at the event, such as aespa, ATEEZ, Brave Girls, ENHYPEN, INI, ITZY, JANNABI, JO1 and NCT 127. Fans will also see NCT DREAM on stage , as well as NCT U, Stray Kids, TXT, Wanna One, the Street Woman Fighter dance crews and international star Ed Sheeran.

The 2021 MAMA presenter Lee Hyori will be on stage with the Street Woman Fighter dancers. The event itself confirmed the news that the singer will perform with the eight dance crews.

There will be many premieres for the 42-year-old star at the award night. Not only will she be the first female artist to host the redesigned show, but she will also appear on stage for the first time.

The last time she performed here was in 2008, when the show was still called MKMF, along with the K-pop group BIGBANG. The global K-pop sensation BTS will not appear at MAMA 2021.

A source revealed to Sports Donga on Dec. 2 that the boys were in talks to grace the event, but they could not do so. Their busy schedule would make it difficult for them to shoot a performance video, even though they reportedly prepare a short clip for their fans.

Their absence reportedly had to do with the new Omicron COVID-19 variant, which forced the South Korean government to issue stricter entry restrictions. From December 3, anyone wishing to enter South Korea, regardless of their vaccination status, had to self-quarantine for 10 days.

Since BTS had just arrived from Los Angeles in the United States and would be performing on the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in 2021, they couldn’t come to MAMA 2021 on December 11th as they still had to self-quarantine. The event would begin at 6:00 p.m. KST and would be streamed worldwide.
