Song Hye Kyo’s new drama ‘The Glory’ now has a release date

December 1, 2022

Song Hye Kyo’s upcoming K-drama, The Glory, now has a release date. The series is about a woman who seeks revenge after being bullied when she was young. Coincidentally, it has the same revenge theme as her ex’s new series Reborn Rich, Song Joong Ki.

Song Hye Kyo will play the role of Moon Dong Eun, a former victim of violent school violence. Now that she’s become the primary school teacher of her bully’s child, she wants revenge on her bullies in The Glory.

The 41-year-old is reuniting with Descendants of the Sun writer Kim Eun Sook, who is also behind hit drama series Goblin, Heirs and Secret Garden. Ahn Gil Ho, who also directed Happiness, Forest of Secrets, Memories of Alhambra and Record of Youth, is alternatively directing the new series.

Lee Do Hyun will play the male lead Joo Yeo Jung in the series. To turn fans on even more, Netflix has released new teasers and posters for the upcoming drama.

Song Hye Kyo looks enigmatic as she sits alone under an embroidered tree, wearing a long black dress and pairing it with a pair of dark colored shoes.

There will be no forgiveness, she says in the trailer for The Glory. But that’s not why there will be glory.

Meanwhile, former couple Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki are both busy with their respective careers. The latter also has a new drama, Reborn Rich, on JTBC.

Reborn Rich follows the story of a loyal employee who dies at the hands of his own boss after being convicted of embezzlement. The actor plays dual roles here as he is later reincarnated as the youngest son of the chaebol family that killed him.

Now he plans to get revenge on his family by taking over their company and doing justice to his old self.

Apparently, Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki’s new projects are both revenge dramas. While it has nothing to do with them or the series they star in, fans can’t help but notice the similarities between the former couple’s new series.

First off, the two got married in October 2017 and have been dubbed a song-song couple. Unfortunately, they filed for divorce just months after their second wedding anniversary.

Reborn Rich is currently airing on JTBC, while The Glory will be available on Netflix on December 30th.
