‘Skeleton Knight in Another World’ or ‘Gaikotsu Kishi-sama, Tadaima Isekai e Odekakechuu’ is an isekai fantasy anime based on the Japanese light novel series of the same name by Ennki Hakari. The series follows an avid gamer who is mysteriously transported into the game world after playing there until he falls asleep. After awakening there, he finds that his avatar is well equipped and powerful enough to take on anyone who dares challenge him in this fantastical world. Though he tries to avoid unnecessary attention and find a way out as soon as possible, his journey becomes complicated when he encounters an elf warrior. The action-packed drama that unfolds has entertained viewers around the world.
Meanwhile, the series has received mixed reviews from critics, some of whom have praised the world-building, while others have criticized the series’ poor pacing. After the premiere of the season one finale, it’s only natural for viewers to speculate as to whether or not there will be another episode of the series. If you’re wondering the same thing, then we have a solution for you.
Skeleton Knights In Another World Season 2 Release Date
‘Skeleton Knight in Another World’ Season 1 was released on April 7, 2022 and ended approximately 2.5 months later on June 23, 2022. The series consists of twelve episodes, each lasting approximately 23-25 minutes.
As for the future of the series, here’s what we know so far. Studio Kai and Hornets have not yet commented on the renewal of the series. All other parties involved in the production or distribution of the first episode have not yet officially commented on the anime’s return. The series has managed to garner a decent following and has a good overall rating on most online platforms.
While most viewers enjoyed the anime, the series has also drawn criticism for the repetitive isekai tropes and terribly executed pacing. Nonetheless, it made it onto Crunchyroll’s Most Popular Anime list in Spring 2022. Plus, the creators still have plenty of raw material left for at least one more season. The first season has just covered 3 of 10 volumes of Ennki Hakari’s ongoing light novel series.
However, despite the popularity of the series, the anime failed to boost sales of Hakari’s books, which is definitely a disappointing factor. Light novel/manga sales, while influencing anime renewals, can be ignored by the creators when other factors bode well for the future of the series. In the case of the Isekai series, positive reviews, good ratings, availability of the source material, and hints at Arc’s future adventures in the final episode all point to the possibility of a return for the series. Assuming things go as expected, Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 will premiere sometime in the first half of 2024.
Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 Plot: What can it be about?
In the season 1 finale, Ariane is delighted to learn that Roden has taken it upon himself to find the missing elves. She and her friends remember Sir Carcy’s prediction that humans and elves will one day live together, and it seems his words are finally coming true. Arc is also happy that he can now continue his misadventures in the game world unhindered and even talks to Chiyome about visiting the ninja village, who of course happily allows him to accompany her.
In Season 2, to restore his body, Arc travels with Ariane to the well-known forest known as the Lord Crown to harness the magical spring there. Unfortunately, in doing so, he angers the dragon lord Wiliahsfim, and a brief fight ensues with him. Thankfully, the differences between the two are soon settled, and Arc finds that the people there are a lot more welcoming than he previously thought.
However, when he tries to use the magical source’s mysterious powers to restore his body, the protagonist faints for several weeks. It turns out that getting his original human body back won’t be an easy task as his soul seems unprepared for such a sudden transition. The upcoming season will chronicle Arc’s misadventures in the fantastical world as he tries to fend off unexpected enemies and twisted conspiracies while trying to make sense of his own inner dilemma.
