The National Records of Scotland announced the cause of Queen Elizabeth II’s death on September 8th. Despite the diseases Her Majesty may have been suffering from, her cause of death was simply old age.
But before Queen Elizabeth breathed her last, she was reportedly surrounded by her royal family. However, the revealed full timeline of her death anniversary says otherwise, and Princess Anne appeared to be the only one by her side.
At 12:32 p.m., Buckingham Palace alarmed the world when it released a statement urging doctors to worry about the Queen’s health. At that time, it was said that she was under medical supervision.
Then-Prince Charles and Prince William canceled their busy schedules and rushed to Balmoral. At 12.45pm, Clarence House announced that the former Prince of Wales and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles were on their way to meet the monarch.
Kensington Palace later confirmed that Prince William was already on his way north. At 2:39 p.m., Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex were aboard a Royal Air Force aircraft.
At 3.10pm, Queen Elizabeth died, and only Princess Anne was by her side, like that express reported. Around 5pm a fleet of cars carrying Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie arrived at Balmoral.
At 6:30 p.m., Buckingham Palace officially announced the death of Queen Elizabeth. Buckingham Palace dubbed the then Duke and Duchess of York King and the Queen Consort and stated that they would remain in Balmoral that evening and return to London the following day.
At around 7 p.m., King Charles issued a statement on the death of his mother, describing it as the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family. But he also knew that their loss would be felt across the land, the realms, the Commonwealth, and among many people around the world.
At 19:08 PM Liz Truss stated that Queen Elizabeth’s passing was the second Elizabethan age and wished God save the king. At 7:25 p.m., Clarence House confirmed Charles as King Charles III. will be known.
At the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth has been suffering from episodic mobility issues since October 2021, leaving her with no choice but to withdraw from some major royal events. She usually attends virtually to fulfill her role as head of the Commonwealth, or sends other senior royals to do her job in her stead.
In the fall, she was hospitalized for an unspecified illness. Queen Elizabeth was placed on bed rest in October 2021, became COVID-19 positive in February and was unwell during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
