After breaking her silence and releasing a statement about the true condition of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley, Priscilla Presley confirmed the death of her only daughter. Lisa Marie was 54 years old.
Lisa Marie was hospitalized on Thursday January 12th due to cardiac arrest. Elvis Presley’s only child was reportedly in critical condition and was on life support.
In a statement to BuzzFeed News the actress/businesswoman and the Presley family said they were shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie. Despite the incident, they are all grateful for the support, love and prayers they have received. They continued to ask for privacy during this very difficult time.
Lisa Marie was admitted to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center after suffering cardiac arrest. Her mother, Priscilla, was later seen rushing to her daughter’s side as other family members gathered outside the hospice.
In a statement to The Post The Dallas graduate assured her fans that her child was receiving the best care after the health shock. She later confirmed that her beloved daughter was hospitalized and asked everyone to pray for her and her family.
She concluded her statement by saying that they are all feeling the prayers from around the world. She later asked not to be disturbed during this time. TMZwhich broke the news, reported that Elvis’ only heir is in an induced coma and has been fitted with a temporary pacemaker.
The publication added that paramedics were responding to a call from Lisa Marie’s home in Calabasas, California. At that point, the 54-year-old was reportedly found not breathing.
Paramedics then quickly performed CPR and administered epinephrine, a hormone and neurotransmitter used to restore the heart’s rhythm, before taking her to the hospital. A representative from the LA Country Fire Department told Page Sixthat first responders arrived at the scene 30 minutes before admission to the intensive care unit.
The rep revealed they were dispatched at 10:37 am after receiving a cardiac arrest call from the 5900 block of Normandy Drive in the town of Agoura. They then arrived at 10:43 am and transported one person at 11:17 am. The patient was described as 55 years old.
Before the surprising medical emergency struck, Lisa Marie was still able to attend the recent Golden Globes with her mother, Priscilla, to show her support for Austin Butler, who won the Best Actor award for portraying the life of her patriarch in the Biopic Elvis received.
In his speech, the actor thanked the two women for their continued support while remaining in his role. He thanked the Presley family for opening their hearts, memories and home to him.
Lisa Marie and Priscilla, I love you forever, he declared. At one point, Lisa Marie burst into his interview Entertainment Weekly with his sister Ashley Butler and asked if she would photograph them and later praised him for his perfect portrayal of their late father.
