Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice will reportedly have no royal duties while Prince Charles takes the lead

May 2, 2022

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice reportedly have a close relationship with their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Even so, Prince Andrew’s daughters may not play royal roles in the future because Prince Charles is said to be planning a streamlined monarchy and they are planning a meeting between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Her Majesty and the Prince of Wales himself arranged.

A royal expert claimed that Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice wanted their respective roles in the royal family. But with Prince Charles around, that may never happen.

Jo Elvin commented on the sudden PR boost for the two princesses after they’ve been making headlines lately. Princess Beatrice recently traveled to Sweden to convene the first World Dyslexia Assembly in cooperation with the Royal Couple’s Foundation.

Princess Eugenie has also started her podcast called Floodlight for her charity The Anti-Slavery Collection. The 32-year-old Queen is hosting the show herself, along with her close friend Julia de Boinville, to discuss how to fight modern slavery.

The Daily Mail’s diary editor Richard Eden revealed via expressthat the two Princesses of York felt attuned to each other after taking place the same week. Behind it seems to be an urge for a public role, which her parents always wanted, he said.

But given the controversy surrounding her father, a royal comeback could be uncomfortable for her.

Elvin alternatively revealed a story in Private Eye that claimed Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie brokered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to the UK and acted as peacemakers.

The Daily Mail’s editor-in-chief Richard Kay also doesn’t think they will have formal royal roles. With Prince Charles’ plan to shrink the monarchy, the addition of the York daughters would only expand the plan, although they would still pop up every now and then,

Despite these claims, royal author Tom Quinn assured that Queen Elizabeth adores the two siblings. She reportedly saw herself and her sister Margaret in them.

After Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced in 1996, another royal author, Angela Levin, revealed the monarch felt more motherly towards the pair and reportedly saw their hardships. Body language expert Judi James added that the similarities between the York princesses and Queen Elizabeth and Margaret made their bond strong.

Like the young Countess of Snowdown and her sister, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice were raised to form a very close-knit team of two. They often offer each other support and friendship like no other.
